Literature teachers: snow is a common symbol for death.
Me, absorbing that and all the spite I felt in that professor’s (incredibly ill-conceived) symbolism section and channeling it into my writing: Is it? Well then, let’s get funky.
#symbolism as a whole is fine this is not me bashing that#this is me being INCREDIBLY pissed that my professor's understanding of symbolism was so fucking skewed#''you can easily find 30-50 symbols in a short story'' EXCUSE ME WHAT SHORT STORIES ARE YOU READING?#THERE'S 2-4 SYMBOLS IN PAUL'S GAME AND THAT'S IT!
