The #redandblack broche is probably the stiffest #coutil I have. With my supple construction approach it's unusual for me to make a #corset that holds its shape with neither a body nor bones in it. So I've been checking the lovely Lucy's Lace Base corset dimension directory. Unfortunately it has led me to the conclusion that basically no off the rack corset will fit me :(

My hips are naturally 11 inches bigger than my hips. There are a few options that would fit that but the fact that my underbust is only about 1 inch bigger than my waist complicates matters (I can never claim to be 'big boned' as that would be a complete lie :P Small bones, just a loooot of chub). And overbusts are out as my bust is 14 inch bigger than my waist.

So for just a 4 inch reduction I'd need a hipspring of 15 inches and yet just a couple of inches of rib-spring.

So it's going to be custom all the way for me! This wouldn't be a bad thing as there are some gorgeous, affordable custom corsets out there (I've got commissions in the making from Fiorella and Kitty O'Hara!) but there are some lovely Off-the-rack pieces that I'd like to try.

I'm currently modifying my Orchard Corset CS-426 to fit my hips properly. But I don't think I'd want to do that for a corset that originally costs more than about £60.

But anyway the Lace Base is an absolutely brilliant source of information so once again I tip my hat to the lovely Lucy for being so darn awesome!
