Who asks the other on dates: they’re more the stay in type, but i feel like it’s pretty equal when there’s somewhere they want to go to (donny loves taking her to concerts)Who is the bigger cuddler: donny will never admit it, but it’s him; he loves curling up with his head on her shoulder or lap, he loves it when she’s the big spoon, he loves her hands in his hair. his biggest problem is that he can’t stay in bed for the whole night, which leaves julia wanting more cuddles than she’s gettingWho initiates holding hands more often: i’d say it’s probably pretty equal; it’s just something they fall into naturally, and they’re almost always holding hands when they’re walking anywhere togetherWho remembers anniversaries: julia. donny will remember the big ones, like their wedding anniversary, but he’s definitely going to need prompting to remember some of the others Who is more possessive: idk that either of them is really possessive??Who gets more jealous: julia is always kind of jealous of the bobby soxers and the fact that donny loves to be swooned over, even though he wouldn’t dream of doing anythingWho is more protective: listen, donny wants to say that it’s him, and he would absolutely speak up for julia if someone was upsetting her, but on a day to day basis, it’s definitely julia (if only she could protect him from his mind)Who is more likely to cheat: neither of themWho initiates sexy times the most: probably julia, since donny is prone to forgetting that there’s a world out there when he’s at the piano. but he certainly has his moments, when he’s in the moodWho dislikes PDA the most: i don’t think either of them really shies away from it, esp not the lighter stuff, holding hands and quick kisses? i feel like julia is probably less into it than donny would be tho??Who kills the spider: donny?? when you’ve had crabs and all kinds of creatures literally all over you, you can whack a spider with a shoe or magazine (not the sheet music tho, never the music)Who asks the the other to marry them: donny. it’s a lot more rushed than he’d intended, but he’d been planning it for some time, and i think it’d still be him in modern verseWho buys the other flowers or gifts: donny likes to buy her flowers or pretty earrings, just bc he likes to see her face light up; even when they’ve got money, he’s not too extravagant, it’s just nice to get her little things. but i feel like julia is probably equally as good if she sees something she thinks he’ll like, or a record he could get inspiration from. so both, reallyWho would bring up possibly having kids: well it kinda happens out the blue lmao but since they both wanted to have children it’s not a huge problem. for kid #2 it’s probably julia who brings it up though, because of how awful the first few months of henry’s life are and donny isn’t going to ask her to put herself at the risk of going through that again (nor does he want to go through that amount of stress again), so he’s a lot more waryWho is more nervous to meet the parents: donny and mrs adams already get on by the time that he and julia start dating, but there’s still some anxiety there for him bc he knows how protective june is and he doesn’t want to go against her wishes or anything. whereas on donny’s side…god knows when julia meets his dad, given donny’s distance there’s no great ‘meet the family’ moment (she will meet his brother at some point, though)Who sleeps on the couch when the other is angry: it’d be donny, but he doesn’t sleep anyway, soWho tries to make up first after arguments: if it was donny in the wrong, and it often is, he’d apologise first, sometimes before she’s ready (see: waiting outside her store for 2 hours). if donny’s the hurt one, he can be pouty for a while but he’s so whipped he’d be willing to forgive her quicklyWho tells the other they love them more often: it’s definitely a lot easier for donny, especially at first, but when julia’s at that point too, i think they both say it frequently (after all, love can just disappear in an instant)
