Followers gift part 1, Test of Time specific - more Roman NPCs! As before, these use the Roman tunics by @sychik, except for the animal control officer, who uses the Spartan outfit converted by @mdpthatsme.
Masseuses, shown here in the public baths in my Rome (with massage table recolors by Sunni.) There are four recolors of the masseuse/masseur outfits, all of which I defaulted; I'm reasonably sure that three of those are linked to vacation destinations, while the fourth shows in the home neighborhood and its domestic suburbs, but I wasn't sure which, and it was easier to do them all than to check. Maybe your Roman hood has Three Lakes as Hibernia or something and you'll have a use for the other colors.
My hood's preternaturally pale vigile (why did I geneticize a skin this light?) and his mysterious magic chariot from the future. He's delivering a puppy, which is all cops do in my neighborhood because my sims are all too nocturnal for burglars to risk robbing them.
The man-maid my hood generated...
And Kaylynn Langerak in actual Pleasantview, because my game was refusing to generate a woman-maid in Rome or in my test hood and I got fed up. All these defaults are for both male and female, but I'd screwed up the female maid dress at first and wanted confirmation it was working.
There's a default for gardeners, too - using a kind of khaki green - but Rome is still in the middle of winter and so I don't have a shot of one in action.
All are compressorized, and they're in individual packages so you only have to keep the ones you want.
Here are some defaults I’ve made to replace the careers from seasons! So this will include the Law career, Gamer, Adventurer, Music, Journalism, and Education.
Credits to @victoriansimmer, @simbury who especially helped come up with the opera career, @kidinthenight, @morgaine2005, the Historical Sims discord and @davinaojeda who inspired me to replace the gamer career with a professional gambling career. They make wonderful post apocalyptic defaults/cc, including an absolutely amazing set of apocalypse default careers.
Spoilers under the cut, and here’s the link
More info about the defaults:
Law: Just replaced with an era appropriate law career with some help from kidinthenight who came up with a lot of the career levels and descriptions.
Gamer: Replaced with a professional gambler career. Your sim starts off as a “Fopdoodle” while eventually improving to the point where they can actually make a bit of money with cards, moving to horse races to make money on those bets, and then finally hitting bigger casinos until they can open a casino themselves! Teens start off playing marbles with other youngsters and then can eventually become a card fumbler.
Adventurer: Replaced with my dread pirate career. Fixed errors, typos, and made it consistent with the payscale for my other careers.
Music: Replaced with Opera. Your sim starts out in a sheet music store, progresses through tutoring young sims, working their way through the ranks of the orchestra, singing in opera shows and eventually perhaps becoming the phantom of the opera. @simbury helped a lot with this one.
Journalism: Just an era appropriate replacement where your sim can work at a newspaper. Most of the chance cards are brand new, but some of the level titles are the same. At the lower level your sim is focused more on paper delivery and writing an informal gossip sheet rather than writing blogs and the top level is a Newspaper Baron instead of general media magnate. The vibe I went for is like... Richard Carlisle from Downton Abbey. Just a very rich sim with a profitable news empire and an easy way to blackmail other sims.
Education: Most of the levels here are similar as well, but most of the chance cards are way different. Your sim starts out learning themselves, and then tutoring a rich sim before becoming a schoolteacher, headmaster, and then working for the university. The top level is still Education Minister.
Regency Career Pack Part II: Five Base Game Careers
Hi again! I’m back with a few more career replacements. This time I’m replacing five basegame careers: Athletic, Criminal, Medicine (Mild TW for some medical gore and body horror in some chance cards. Goopy entrails and all.), Science, and Slacker.
Credits again to @victoriansimmer, @simbury, @kidinthenight, @morgaine2005, the entire Historical Sims discord, and aysarth.
Spoilers and more info below the cut, here’s the link:

More details about the replacements here:
Athletic: Replaced with a mining career. Brainstormed by many of my friends in the Historical Sims discord. Your sim mostly works their way up from being a “Drudge” to a Minor Miner, Middling Miner, Major Miner, etc.. Pretty low pay until your sim starts becoming a Mine Boss and getting involved in the business side of things. Once your sim is a Coal Baron or Diamond Debonair they are raking in the big bucks. Louis Carter in Riverwood Park is a Diamond Debonair and between that income and his wife’s income as a Baroness.. you’ve seen their house, they’re doing quite well.
Criminal: It’s still a crime career, just more era friendly with lower pay that matches my other careers. Your sim will have pretty low pay as they are a Street Rat, Cutpurse, Highwayman, etc. They will have more decent middle class pay once they get into the higher levels like Smuggling and other organized crime. Chance cards altered to fit the era.
Medicine: Era friendly medical career. Also inspired by kidinthenight who had listed some of the career levels, though I moved them around and added chance cards and descriptions. Your sim starts out cleaning entrails and robbing graves for medical students, works in an apothecary shop, trains to be a surgeon and eventually maybe attends Smoxford Medical School to become a physician and serve more illustrious clients, perhaps with royal titles? The pay is lower than the maxis career mostly but still fairly decent. Doctors were not the power earners they are today but it was a respectable middle class profession that made a living wage.
Science: Replaced with Church of the Watcher. I really liked this in morgaine2005′s medieval replacements and I know that in the 19th century science was more normalized and not seen as an affront to the watcher, but I wanted a church career and the original replacement I found replaced education, which I wanted to make an actual teacher career to replace that. So this is mostly cobbled together from kidinthenight’s replacement for the education career and aysarths custom church career. The writing style for the adult career is a bit different since it’s mostly not my writing.
Slacker: Replaced with a Pauper career! I love this one. It’s originally made by kidinthenight, I just added the chance cards, some of the descriptions, and I changed Link Boy to lamplighter since Link Boys are more of a medieval thing. This career has very low pay for all ten levels. The top level, tenant farmer, still makes only $165 simoleans. Your sim starts out as a “Tramp” and finally scrounges up a street corner to beg on before doing odd jobs like catching rats, cleaning chimneys and streets, and shining shoes of other sims! Era appropriate chance cards included.
I hope you enjoy! I’m still working on finishing the other five BG careers as well as the careers from FT and Seasons.
And here are some defaults for the Freetime careers. These will replace the Entertainment, Dance, Architecture, Intelligence, and Oceanography careers.
Credits to @victoriansimmer, @simbury, @kidinthenight, @morgaine2005, and the Historical Sims discord.
More info under the cut, and here is the link
So, about the careers:
Entertainment: Replaced with a theatre career. Your sim will start off as a “Fan” working in a local pub that caters to actors, they will eventually become a theatre sweeper, extra, understudy, and so on until they are getting leading roles and possibly directing plays!
Dance: Replaced with a woohoo worker career! The previous versions I have uploaded have some pretty serious typos and errors so I would recommend this one. Performers in general were considered to be pretty low status and essentially the same as woohoo workers, so that’s why I chose dance. Your sim starts out as a street walker and eventually gets their foot in the door of a brothel, rises through the ranks and eventually is able to buy their own brothel, and potentially keep company with some very powerful sims and be paid accordingly.
Architecture: Replaced with an era appropriate architect career. Mostly new chance cards. It was hard to research this one but I did my best. Basically an architecture firm would hire a surveyor who would supervise individual craftsmen who worked separately from each other to build different parts of the building. So your sim starts out as a laborer to help the actual craftsmen fetch and carry things, then crafts stonework and woodwork until they are promoted to surveyor and then able to join the actual architect firm, where they can work their way up to senior architect, and then perhaps become the city manager or palace architect.
Intelligence: My spy career that I’ve uploaded here before, with fixed typos, errors, and pay. Lots of lore from the sims medieval.
Oceanography: Replaced with a Navy career. Your sim works their way through the ranks and does boat stuff that is actually legal. This was the one that made this particular career pack take so long because it was so boring to try and write stuff for this when I had already had so much fun writing ten levels of pirate content. But I got it done for our goodie two shoes sims who like the ocean but would rather not murder and rob sims.
Regency Career Pack Part V: Four More Base Game Careers
I’ve decided to post the rest of the base game careers I have finished. The only one left is culinary. I’ve been busy with other projects, having some issues with my own historical game, and have had some writers block in terms of finishing up those chance cards, but I don’t want your sims to miss out on the other careers while I’m distracted. I will of course upload that one when I finish it. This pack will include the military, business, politics, and law enforcement.
Credits to: @victoriansimmer, @simbury, @kidinthenight, the Historical Sims discord, @morgaine2005, and aysarth who pretty much wrote the entire adult military career, including the chance cards.
More info under the cut and here’s the link
Some more info about the careers:
Military: Replaced with a period appropriate military career. The writing style is a little different because I didn’t write most of it, I just did some editing and made the teen version.
Business: Replaced with Trader. Your sim starts off working in someone else’s shop cleaning and loading wagons, then works their way to owning their own store and expanding their business empire until they are a Tycoon.
Politics: The pay is higher for this one, since the idea is that only wealthy landowning males would be doing it. Your sim starts out as just a voter, then working as a clerk for a politician and then running their own campaign, where they can move up the ranks in parliament and beyond. There is some asoiaf referenced stuff at the upper levels that I’m sure is not historically accurate for regency/victorian era but sorry, I’m a nerd and I think gameplay wise having a Hand of the King is a fun idea.
Law Enforcement: Replaced with a Constable career. The job levels are mostly just the ranks in the actual english constables but there are period accurate chance cards/descriptions.
