I’ve read here is the deepest secret a couple times but don’t usually seek it out bc I’m a blueoak shipper, but I saw frostfur and was like oh this is gonna be good and it did not disappoint!! <33
Lolll I mean I don’t think of hitds as a Blueoak series…they have a fling and then Bluefur’s like “byyye bitch,” so. I hope you enjoy it anyway ig? I only like blueoak as a fling anyway.
But I’m glad you enjoyed Frostfur hours! ‘Twas an unplanned fic from the original set, but her POV was cute, and, well, what can I say, I’ve really internalized Kudo’s thoughts about mentors and apprentices XD
These kits are his. The swell of protectiveness and love and joy he feels is barely controllable, and it takes everything he has not to immediately abandoned all pretense of self control and wrap himself around his family, sit guard and prevent anything from harming a single hair.
Warriors AU that's probably been done a million times: Bluestar's kits stay in ThunderClan while she is leading
here is the deepest secret nobody knows
but in serious, yes! i haven't gotten to the planned end of hitds yet, so hiding my plans for the au under a read more. that said, if you've read through "a tree called life," there's not a ton of new info.
yeah! "anywhere you go, i go" ends with mm&s at their first gathering! and the very last fic in the series, temporally, is from their pov
"keeping the stars apart" is planned at six chapters, and i'm just going to talk through them as a way of talking through my plans for the au
chapter one, "moments passed and moments wanted" takes place just after "whatever is done only by me," and is about the kits processing their experiences together. nothing interesting for an au summary.
chapter two, "as i walk down to the river" is their apprentice ceremony (so it overlaps with "a tree called life"), and it's from mistykit's pov i'm super excited she's a cutie. but also, no new au summary information.
chapter three, "like a memory through a mirror" is the first gathering from their pov, takes place at the same time as an unpublished fic called "whatever a moon has always meant," and the end of "anywhere you go, i go"
they see thrushpelt and oakheart talk, which like, isn't super weird, but it's kind of weird.
chapter four, "secrets on your back" is the first half of the truth. basically, the kits figure out that something happened and they wheedle the truth out of thrush&blue. or what they think is the truth, anyway. this is probably around when bluefur becomes leader, i need to break out the timeline to say for sure.
chapter five, "in the silence of dawn," is when they become warriors, at which point, bluestar is leader. she's very, very proud of her kits.
as an aside, i'm not sure who bluestar's first deputy is going to be. might be thrushpelt. might not. can't be redtail, because i don't think that works out?
frankly, i know he's supposed to be her first deputy (or at least, that's the impression i'm under), but i don't know when he had a chance to train an apprentice.
idk, i'll work it out when i get there. maybe it will be redtail? but i don't know for sure.
and finally, chapter six, "standing on the edge of the trail home" is when the truth of their parentage comes out. i'm not sure when this takes place, but it's the last thing i intend to publish in this au, at least in terms of the timeline.
saying that basically guarantees i write more for it, but i honestly don't plan to. there's room for more than one au where her kits live in my heart, and here is the deepest secret is a collection of fics more than a coherent au.
right! but anyway, i think (?) this is going to be the battle where oakheart dies. that just feels right. it feels appropriately cinematic. they only knew bluestar was their mother when she was dying, so they only know oakheart is their (bio) father dies. to be clear, thrushpelt is their father in every sense but the biological one.
and after that, well, rusty still joins the clans, and he's probably going to be assigned to mistyfoot, as an apprentice. idk, just feels legit.
redtail lives because i say so, so even if he's not her deputy, he still does live. probably would be a redstar au, if i continued it.
anyway! sorry i ended up not really talking about the actual au very much, i just wanted to ramble about my plans for hitds.
bluestar is very proud of her kits! the three of them. still not sure what mosspaw is going to do. tinkered with the idea of her wanting to be a medicine cat, but spottedpaw is already in training and i decided i didn't like it that much anyway. i do have a few warrior names in mind for her.
stone & misty may or may not keep theirs. mistyfoot almost definitely will, because i love -foot names, but stone may or may not. undecided. depends on what i do with him.
anyway, the reason i'm ending it at the end of keeping the stars apart is because the story after that is kind of boring. like, i either rehash tpb, or i do a rewrite, and like, in general, strict rewrites aren't my thing.
(my oots au where dove&ivy are brightheart's kits is an exception to that because it is very specifically targetted to accomplish something.)
"Afflicted?" Crookedstar said.
It's a euphemism they've never liked. It was used to describe Rainflower's treatment of Crookedkit.
Oakheart had always found it a coward's way to describe uncaring.
anywhere you go, i go
