I keep your story as a tab in my bookmarks, and pop in every now and then to see if there's an update on DoS, even though my fic reading has slowed in general. Sharing only so you know the interest in your story is still strong and real.

Aw you’re so kind.  I recently figured out what was blocking me on continuing DOS - it was never my intention to leave it incomplete for so long, but hopefully now that I know what the issue is,  I can work past it, and get it completed.

I re-read through the entirety of DoS again over the past few days and it was just as gut-wrenching the second time around, if not more so, because I caught things I didn't catch the first time. Passing along this message of love for your story with no strings. <3

Attn: Ppls who have taught the classics.

Looking for solid excerpts of the Iliad and the Aeneid. High interest excerpts that stand on their own well with a bit of context given beforehand, and could be read in a night or two.  It’s been undergrad since I’ve read either.  

I’d like to include them in my mythology class this coming year.  Students in the class (should be) grades 10-12, and would have either read 90% of the Odyssey (with me in honors) or a high-action-highlights-excerpts version in their regular English classes as freshmen.

Pourquoi?

The children. I usually teach it in the beginning of the year when they don't have the stamina (want?) to engage with a longer text.  Since I've moved it to the second semester, they should be good. Also, I really want to start my Romeo and Juliet unit, but I want the ending date to coincide with Mardi Gras break/end of quarter, so I have to hold off a week or so.

My dad did nearly the same to me when I was two: we were playing ring-around-the-rosies and I decided to "all fall down" before the designated time. Arm wrenched, pain, crying, etc. I don't remember it at all. I'm sorry for your pain (and hers), but for her it will become just a funny story about her momma making a boo-boo one time before she can remember.

Thank you! I didn't know it was so common until after it happened to her. She's completely fine now and she has been since the day after. She just wants to keep a band-aid on it, lol.

I'm sorry it happened to you, too. Your poor dad must have been a mess after.
