//Thinking about Darius as I’m trying to write his bio and timeline verses, and it’s so interesting how his story has come out. He’s a kid from the Dark Ages whose father was so broken hearted at loosing his wife to an illness, that he brought his 5-9 year old son yo a wish dragon in hopes of getting a cure. But by the time he gets there, it’s too late and he can only beg for the dragon to bring him back, offering his service as a hunter/trapper to the dragon. The dragon obliges and brings him back using another creature’s life force.
//what neither of them realized is that the wish didn’t end at one returned life and would continually revive Darius each time he died… at the cost of another’s life.
//fast forward to present day where Darius is in the Last City, searching for a way to get back at Xivu Arath whose forces had broken into the hidden valley pocket dimension made by the wish dragon, killed everything inside, and revealed a terribly effective way to use Darius’s curse and weaponize his deaths: using her army to fuel his revivals.
//but here comes the interesting bit: the more hive energy he uses to revive himself, the more hive like he becomes. So as he’s endeavoring to bring down Xivu Arath, he’s also beginning to experience how Hive experience emotions—and that makes things a whole lot harder to deal with as a human.
