HiveFall - Alveus and Cinder's after story by e31
Right after the AOS season 3 finale.. I just wrote a fanfic about Cinder Fall and Alveus (Hive)’s future evil plots!
For Daisy
Hive is getting some Watch Dogs to experiment on. It just want to save them - they just want to kill everyone like him.
They don’t turn out very well but Hive only wants to grow and take over more bodies. It doesn’t care what they are as long as it can take them over. It doesn’t care about any of them as long as it can grow. Even Daisy is expendable.
All Hive is made of is lies. It makes it’s followers believe in it just to chew them out and spit them out once their usefulness ends.
Hive Regenerated Ward’s Body
Did anybody miss the end of the episode where Hive killed five humans to regenerate Grant Ward’s body? Where poor Brett Dalton ended up covered in honey like crap that I’m pretty sure caused him to get a bad cold and led to strep throat. So cut it the hell out with the corpse shit. The people saying it show their ignorance everytime they say it. People in this fandom who have actually read a comic and know about Hive keep saying this, none of you choose to damn well use your brains to do your thinking.
So I’ve been thinking some more about Hive-Daisy and Hive in general, and it finally hit me that what’s been bugging me about this storyline is that it’s just. so. lazy.
The fact that Hive’s power is that he can control all Inhumans is not the problem in and of itself. Because that is straight up terrifying and threatening. The devil from another planet comes to earth and has the power to control a rapidly growing percentage of the population - that shit is no joke. And the fact that Hive’s mind control leaves the Inhuman’s specific personality intact is actually super interesting and presents a very compelling drama that we saw unfolding between Daisy and Lincoln in the last episode - it was unmistakably Daisy’s personality, but her drive, her focus, everything that made her Daisy was focused toward’s Hive’s goal instead of her own. This is so scary, the idea that Hive can twist and turn your own motivations and desires towards his goal, that he can make you believe in his future, that he can make you believe that you want it.
The problem is that for the past 5 episode or so, we’ve only seen Hive exert his influence over like a handful of Inhumans (and I think that may even be generous, I think it’s only 3 - Giyera, Lucio, and now Daisy). At the same time, we’ve seen him gruesomely murder many more humans. His brutality towards humans has been widely shown, but his influence over the Inhumans has barely been explored. So the threat of him raising an Inhuman army to take over Earth doesn’t actually feel all that threatening. Imagine if, for the past few episodes, we saw him steadily infecting Inhuman after Inhuman. Imagine how much more terrifying and threatening he would feel now.
Which brings me to Daisy. Hive infecting Daisy doesn’t feel like an interesting plot development. It feels like it was done purely for shock value, like they’re trying to recapture the shock of Ward’s turn in season one. Well guess what writers, it gets stale after a while. And here’s the thing that infuriates me, they could have created conflict and made Daisy join Hive without mind control. The easiest way of doing that would be to have Hive threaten her team and have her join him in exchange for their lives. It’s a cliche, but it still would’ve been better than this blissed out, riding a Hive-high Daisy we’ve got going on right now. Because at least that way, she would still have some semblance of agency. Because at least that way, we would get to see her struggle to work with the enemy while remaining true to herself. one of my absolute favorite tropes is the good guy doing bad things for a good reason. And they could’ve done that here!! And they didn’t.
It feels like a last ditch, hail mary pass, like the writers just now realized the season’s almost over and they’re cramming for the season finale. I mean, the Secret Warriors were teased for so long and in the same episode they’re officially introduced and ultimately disbanded. And of course there is the obligatory tie-in to Captain America Civil War. And of course we need a plot twist somewhere so oh, spin the plot wheel says team member betrayal and we drew Daisy’s name out of a hat.
It’s just so messy and lazy and halfhearted and the characters deserve better than this and we as viewers deserve better than this and ugh it is so frustrating to watch the steady decline of what was once a favorite show.
NO this is not Skyeward!
This is a creepy Ward-look-alike and a mind controlled Daisy (btw I still hate that name... Skye suited her better). And as a Skyeward fan, I find this pairing offensive.
i will never be okay with hive-ward’s ridiculously dramatic coat
which one of his previous hosts picked the wardrobe?
actually it was probably ward wasn’t it
