Remember a few years back Bee, the movie, came out starring Steinfeld. Well, the problem mentioned in the movie is still there but no one seemed aware or even care.
It seems that our food supply is inevitably doomed, our alchemy cannot keep up with the demands of our increasingly hungry populations. I say alchemy because all we do is indirectly putting oil into the ground as fertilizers which in turn transform into the food we eat. I am secretly counting down to the day when order fails and organized chaos begin, ie. famine running rampant with war following close behind.
The term, colony collapse disorder (CCD), was coined in 2006 when beekeepers around the world registered significant decline in their bee populations. Every year since, that is 5 years now, we have lost about a third of our existing bee population on average, which comes out to roughly 88% of the bee population in 2006. So what it means for you and I is that there will be less food to go around regardless of when the economy resume its unnatural course.
The worse part is that we still have not figured out exactly caused CCD.
There are speculation anywhere from pathogens, environmental impact, starvation, business practice of bee-keeping, pesticides, GMOs, to electromagnetic waves coming out of our cells are the reasons why CCD happened. And the list goes on and on....
Less food for thought...only hunger in the future
