“I need you to stay here,” I say holding Abby’s shoulders, “We can’t risk you getting caught in the crossfire. Promise me.”
She furrows here brows before nodding, “I understand.”
“Good,” I say firmly before kissing her cheek, “I love you so much.”
“Stay safe, mom,” she encourages with a smile.
I return it and give her crystal orb. “Here, you can have this. This can help you see what’s going on outside.”
She accepts and immediately inspects it. Her fingers brushing on the screen seeing her mother’s face in the orb as she was in real time. I gave a smile which was transmitted to the orb instantly. She slides on the orb one more time to her father, attending the speech Charlie was speaking. She hid it with the use of her powers and gives me one final hug.
“Dear, why don’t you join the other’s downstairs? You should get to know them better now that you decided on staying,” Alastor joins us and holds my waist with one hand and his microphone in the other.
“Oh! Right!” she enthusiastically runs down the hall and disappears.
“Gosh, where does she get that energy from,” I comment holding my cheek, feeling tired just looking at her. “That definitely wasn’t from me.”
Alastor laughs and gives me a kiss on the cheek before we follow after her slowly. He says this instead of answering, “As long as she’s happy that’s fine!”
I roll my eyes playfully at him and gazed at the group that gathered around the bar. I spot Abby holding a glass of orange juice trying to get closer to Cherri. I laugh at her actions, of course she chooses the coolest one to be her friend.
“Hi! I’m Abigail! You can just call me Abby,” she introduces holding out her hand.
“Uhh, sup? Name’s Cherri,” the pinkette answers reluctantly shaking her hand.
“Pleasure to meet you! We’ve met before but I never caught your name,” Abby asks the arachnid.
“Angel Dust. Angel’s fine, toots. Orange juice? What are you? 5?” Angel asks not exactly mocking her, but genuine confused by her choice.
“I’ve tried liquor before but it’s just not for me,” she replies not even bothered that she just got slighted.
“Fair enough,” Angel shrugs before walking to the bar to talk to Husk.
“So, uhh, your dad’s the radio demon?” Cherri asks trying to be polite.
“Indeed!” Abby answers enthusiastically, “We haven’t seen each other since I was a kid though.”
“Oh, why? What happened?” Cherri asks placing her drink down.
“He—uhh died when I was younger and by the time I was 15 I only had a few memories that I remember of him.”
“Oh shit. What about your mom though?”
“Mom also died when I was 14. So, I was on my own for a time in my life.”
“Well, at least we survived that shit. To being orphans!” Cherri exclaims raising her glass to Abby.
“Hurray?!” Abby panics confused and clinked their glasses together before doing the same as Cherri who downed her drink.
Alastor and I laugh while Niffty crawls on the railing between us.
“Ah, the celebratory night before a courageous last stand. It's been a surprising thrill to witness these wayward souls find connection. Almost makes one sentimental, eh, Niffty?”
“I really like them, Alastor. They let me put on roach puppet shows without booing!” she replies enthusiastically, while I watched the two talk with a smile on my face.
“Ah, an enjoyable collective to be around. I admit one could get accustomed,” he sighs looking back down at them, particularly at Abby who was getting along with them quite well.
“I dub thee, King Roach,” NIffty proclaimed, putting on a bug crown on Alastor which he let her do and gave her a little bow.
“Oh, to understand your twisted little mind!” he comments before they started cackling where Alastor just played along with her. It made me sentimental of how he used to play house and have tea parties with Abby way back when.
Niffty scampers off with the other giving me the space and scoot over to him. “Will you be okay handling Adam?” I asked worriedly.
“It’ll be fine. I’ll be as careful as can. I’m not going to lose to him that easily,” he snorts, “You, however, I need you to come back to me in one piece.”
I sighed and reminded him, “I think you forgot our deal, Al. I won’t exist if you don’t.”
He falls silent and tries to think. While I continue and place my hand on his chest, “You own my heart and my everything. This body beats for two. United as one, in sickness and in health—”
“Til’ death do us part,” we finish together. He wordlessly encases me in his arms and fall into a comfortable silence.
--timeskip
“Here they come. Get ready, everyone. We fight together!”
“Now! FOR YOUR SOULS!”
“Let's FUCK THEM UP!”
Alastor and I waited for them at the top of the hotel, watching as the angels begin their assault.
“Let the slaughter begin. AHAHAHAHAHAHA-HA!” Alastor yells swinging his microphone, summoning a black force field around us.
I left him and dove all the way from the rooftop and phasing to the floor, allowing me to transform into my giant demon form. With a terrifying grin and half lidded eyes that craved for chaos, I let out a shriek causing everyone to cover their ear giving Alastor to cut down the angels.
I raise my left and clenched it into a fist encasing every angel that aimed for me in a bubble immobilizing them, leaving them to Angel to shoot down. In that moment, Alastor’s shield disappeared leaving the silhouette of Adam with a sadistic smile.
He lounges for me while I only swiped him away with my hand causing him to tumble and crash on top of the hotel where Alastor was waiting for him. I left them and focused on helping the others, summoning my underlings to help the others.
After a while of killing angels, their numbers didn’t seem to waver making me curse under my breath feeling the weight of prolonging this fight for so long. I let out a pained shriek collapsing on myself and transforming back to my original form.
‘Shit. Is Alastor ok? What the hell happened?’ I thought starting to get delirious with the pain.
“MILEDY NO!”
“SUCK MY HOLY LIGHT, FUCKERS! YEAH!” Adam yells over our heads making me glare at him.
“What? Alastor was supposed to handle him. Oh no, he must be—”
White noise fills my ears as my vision starts to fail me leaving me in an unconscious state, where the last thing I see was tendrils wrapping around me.
---later
“Dad!”
“Alastor!!”
Everyone hugs him seeing his return that he was safe, however they fail to spot Miledy with him.
“Dad… Where’s mom?” Abby asks worried, trying to calm herself before she goes crazy looking for her mom.
“She’s fine. Just resting,” he assures giving his daughter a smile. ‘She has to be,’ he thought furrowing his brows before following the others.
<<flashback>>
“Al!” I scream getting away from an exorcist that was after me. She pushes me down and attempts to stab my chest. As soon as the steel met my skin, a tendril pushes her off me. I screamed as I see a large cut, opening up my chest. I watch mortified as I see my own beating heart.
“Miledy!”
Alastor rushes to me and knelt beside me. I hold onto him tightly confused and afraid, “Al, where are we? I don’t know what’s going on. I’m scared!”
His breathing stutters and tries to answer her, his eyes knit together and wore a frown. “It’s okay, you’re okay. I need to save you. You have to make a deal with me, Mel.”
I nodded my head despite not knowing anything he was saying. I just wanted to get out of here and be with him. Explain things to me carefully without my life being endangered and on the run.
“Mel, you will have to give your heart to me. So that no one will find your weakness, this is to keep you alive. Do we have a deal?” Alastor says to me seriously a faint green light emanating from him and his outstretched hand.

A/N: aaaaa take it. we're getting more miledy backstory in the next chapter, cheers!
Feeling a gentle hand sweep through my face, I open my eyes and see Al. I wiped my own tears away and sat up.
“Couldn’t sleep well?” he asked somberly.
“Yeah, just- it’s just a few months until her birthday is all. I just miss her so much,” I answered hugging myself trying to shake my anxiety.
He sighs, probably feeling the same way. Al left us before Abby could even reach her 4th birthday. He adored Abigail, in some way she had her grandmother’s face that made him attached to her even more. So, leaving without seeing Abby through adulthood has been rough on him. Though I’ve him told stories about our lives, how Abby missed him and often quoted his sayings from his recorded shows that she begged me to give her when she found it in her father’s old studio when we were cleaning it out. It warmed his heart that he was still an important part of her life despite being gone, clearly pleased that he didn’t end up like his own dad that he grown to despise.
“I know, but since we haven’t found her here. She must be off up there, somewhere better… safer…” he mutters almost regretfully.
I tried to smile and held his hand in assurance, “Yeah, I hope you’re right.”
He raises his lips to a smile and says, “Well then! How about some breakfast to lighten up the mood?” and guides me to the table in the woods in our room placing a dish for me and a deer carcass on his side. I roll my eyes playfully at him and said, “I’m not standing next to you if you don’t take a mint after.”
“Of course, of course. I won’t forget.”
While we enjoyed our meal together, the door bursts open to reveal Vaggie and a bunch of Eggbois.
“Alastor!”
His eyes shifted from her to me and his meal before replying, “Do you mind? I’m in the middle of breakfast.”
“Good morning to you too, Vaggie,” I greet before eating a mouthful of the meal that Alastor prepared for me.
“Hi,” she responds dryly, “Pentious' eggs are all over the place, and I need you to get rid of them.”
He throws away his utensils and summons his microphone before responding, “Oh, well, in that case, I'd be delighted to!”
“Humanely!”
“Hmm. Well, that's a lot less fun,” he remarks turning his head from Vaggie and on to me revealing his glowing red eyes and the x-mark on his forehead, “but I suppose I can take care of that on my outing today.”
“Great!” she looks at our table and sees the dead deer and comments, “That looks disgusting.”
“Dear, can you wait after breakfast?” I sighed, while Vaggie saw herself out.
“Alright, I can wait,” he smiled smiling at me and sitting in front of me again.
“Hello, little men. How are you all doing today?”
“Hi, pretty fish lady! We’re well, though we got kicked out by the owners, now we’re going wherever you go!”
I laugh at them petting their heads, “I see. Now be good eggbois and follow Alastor and I closely. We don’t want you ending up cracked.”
They saluted at us rather clumsily making it endearing for me to look at, they remind me so much of how the children in the orphanage played pretend.
As we enter Pentagram City, the little Eggbois kept pestering Alastor with questions making me cover my giggles under my hand as I watched his eye twitch in annoyance from their never-ending questions.
“This seems rather familiar. Remember when Abby reached the age where she would question us about everything?” I started with a smile, trying to calm him down.
He huffs out a laugh and nods, then shakes his head, “She was so talkative, it seemed like she would never lose her voice.”
“She’s a lot like you in that way,” I grin bumping my hips at him.
We get caught off-guard when Zestial comes before us, I guess we were so engrossed in our conversation that we missed this mighty being’s arrival.
“Hark, Alastor, M’lady. How fare thee this day?”
He places a peck on my hand in greeting while Alastor makes a little static sound.
“Who's that, boss? Want me to rough him up for you?”
“Follow in silence if you value your shell!” he replies tapping their heads and then turns back, “Greetings, Zestial!”
“Ah, the weather, doth become this fine day.”
“Indeed, looks like we might have some acid rain this afternoon!”
Not a moment later, a demon overhearing their conversation lights themselves on fire and runs away screaming, my eyes following his figure before our party continues with our walk. I let the two gentlemen talk with themselves—listening in to their conversation.
“If our luck doth hold! I do revel in the screams. How art thou? It has been an age since thou hath graced us thy presence. Some hath spun wild tales of you falling to... holy arms.”
As he says this, my eyes couldn’t help but widen at the implication. This wasn’t just about him helping Charlie, who by proxy is Lucifer’s daughter—an angel. Does he mean that he made a deal with someone from heaven. With a confused look, I turn my eyes on Alastor who looks around somewhat nervously.
“Oh, I just took a well-earned sabbatical, nothing serious,” he adjusts his bowtie in the mirror as he answers, “Though it's fun to keep everyone on their toes!”
“There too hath been rumor of thy involvement with the princess and her recent flight of fancy. Tell me,” he stops walking and opens his coat briefly, making me somewhat embarrassed for looking directly at him, “how does thou fall in such folly?
“That is for me to know. But please, do guess, I'd love to know the theories!” Alastor answers holding his cane in one hand and the other on my waist pulling us forward.
“T'would be grander folly by far to assume the workings of your mind, Alastor. Thou hath been naught but an enigma since thy manifested in this realm!” Zestial comments.
“Coming from someone as ancient as you, I take that as quite the compliment!” Alastor ‘smiles’ as we arrive at the entrance to Carmilla’s building. While we got on the elevator, the little Eggbois closely followed only to be stopped by Alastor.
“No, no. I have a very important task for you. Stay here and guard the front until I return,” Alastor commands making them salute. I raise my eyebrow counting only four of them. I find the other one near the door, which I pushed behind me with my foot signaling him to stay quiet.
We entered the venue, quietly greeting Rosie then sitting between her and Alastor.
“Welcome, Hell sovereign overlords. I've invited you all here because you represent the controlling powers of our city. Together, you own millions of souls. Souls at risk with the new Extermination schedule. We need to discuss what can be done to minimize the impact to our interest.”
“Zestial, so good to see you, my friend,” she greets when he sits near her.
He summons a teacup and saucer and replies, “Enchanted as always, Carmilla.”
She finally notices my husband and calls him, “Alastor?”
He replies smugly, “Yes, I know I've been absent some time. I'm sure you've all been wondering!”
“...Not really. But welcome back in any case,” she replies dismissing him which he narrows his eyes in offence to.
“This year's Extermination was brutal, far more even than years past. We have assessed that about 16% of the population was lost With the angelic legions now returning twice as quickly, I think it prudent we—"
She gets cut off when Velvette enters the room on the phone with presumably one of the other Vees, side-eyeing her for her impertinence.
“Yes, I've got it handled, Vox. Are you doubting me? Really? Me? That's what I thought. Haha! Yes, I know. They're all a joke. Thank you, V. See you soon. Kisses, darling.”
“Nice of you to join us, Velvette. Will your... colleagues be joining?” Carmilla asks despite being rudely cut off by the brat.
“No, they have better shit to do than to listen to an old windbag who thinks she's tough shit. I'm here to represent.”
“Charming. So, as I was saying, we need to discuss—"
She again interrupts Carmilla by waving her hand to get her attention.
“Yes?”
“On the subject of discussion,” she starts before taking out an Exorcist’s head throwing it onto the table lolling side to side as it rests in front of us.
“Holy shit!”
“Oh! Tasty...”
Narrowing her eyes, Carmilla asks, “Where did you get this?”
“We found it during Extermination Day. If these Holy Rollers can be killed, the game has changed. We can take the fight to them. The boys and I have come up with a full assault plan—"
Velvette stops talking as she and the other overlords look at Zestial, who is sipping his tea loudly and aggressively to drown out Velvette.
“If it be true thee and thy colleagues desire to war with such meagre proof, thou art far more... foolish than I be thought,” he laughs.
Velvette scoffs and crosses her arms, “Meagre proof? It's a dead fucking Exorcist. I'd say that's pretty fucking definitive. You going blind, old man?”
“We know not how this perished. Mayhaps t'was not by a demon's hand at all. If we rush to war without knowing mightn't, they purge all of Hell for daring an uprising?”
The other overlords mutter in agreement. Velvette notices Carmilla's expression and smiles.
“Oh, I get it. So, Grandpa is too pussy to fight, so I guess there's no point, right?” she says getting on Zestial’s face, “Oh, what's the matter, Fossil? Too senile to make a real power grab for—"
I lost myself with Carmilla and Velvette’s little duet. They’re completely different styles but they blended well together which I appreciated a lot. Despite Velvette being a little brat coming here, I can’t help but enjoy her singing. I got startled when Carmilla announces that the meeting was over. We didn’t even properly start it when Velvette came in and suggested picking a fight with heaven.
Alastor and I walk out of the room eyes never leaving Carmilla. She seemed so defeated.
“Hmm. Well, that's interesting,” he then points at the remaining Eggboi with his cane, “You, little egg creature. I have a job for you.”
“Oh. Yes, boss!”
“Follow them!”
He then salutes and scuttles over inside the room.
I looked at it worriedly, “Will he be alright?”
“Darling. It’s a little egg thing. No need to get so attached,” he titters holding my waist and takes us to the elevator.
“But it’s so cute!” I pouted.
“Alright, we’ll ask Pentious if he can lend you one of them when he can,” he compromises making me beam at him. “Only if, he can tell us something valuable.”
“Deal!” I reply excitedly then giving him a kiss on the cheek are we got off the elevator and waited for the little egg to report to us.
He bounded happily and stops in front of us.
“So, what did you hear?”
“First, the old guy w-was all, "Y-you're not yourself. You're the one who killed the angel," a-a-and, she was all, "♪ Whatever it takes ♪"” he reports clumsily making me smile a how adorable it was.
“And then what was the last thing?" Alastor asks getting annoyed by how jumbled up his sentences were.
“She killed the angel?”
Alastor hums finding this information important, “Interesting. Let’s keep this between us. Shall we?”
“You got it, boss!”
My eyes still wide about the information, “She killed exorcists? How? I mean the evidence was staring at us dead in the face, quite literality but, this changes everything.”
“Indeed. We should keep this to ourselves for now, this could help us someday,” he answers mysteriously.
He’s been doing that more often now with me after those years that he stayed gone. Oh Al, what happened.
We arrive at the hotel seeing them get together so happily bantering with one another.
Vaggie says from the balcony, “Alastor. failed to get rid of the eggs, I see.”
“Yes, well, the little monsters prove to be rather useful,” Alastor replies eyes glowing with excitement.
“Why don't you give them back to Pentious,” she says smiling.
“Really? Sir Pentious asks teary-eyed.
“Yeah. After today, I guess I can trust you with them. But seriously, no more weapons,” she announces putting her foot down.
“Why don’t we go to our room ourselves, dear?” Alastor suggests escorting back us to our room.

It was late at night, most of the people at the hotel were still asleep. Aside for two.
“Charlie? Dear, why are you still up?” I asked finding her in the living room section downstairs.
“Ah! Miledy! Hi! Umm, I was just figuring out why our hotel isn’t working,” she replies looking at the ‘documents’ in her hands, while she sat by herself on the couch then lifting her head to look at her cork board.
I sit beside her, subconsciously placing my hand over her back in comfort and asked, “Is this about the countdown?”
Her eyes widen finding my touch comfortable and familiar, and softly lets out, “Yeah, we’ve been doing everything, and nothing’s been working that can help them achieve redemption. I just feel a little bit hopeless.”
“Aw, starshine. It’s ok,” I tell her as I pulled her in for a hug which she accepted, her breathing slowed down as she had slowly melted in my touch. “I think a break will do you some good. Say, do you want to stay here with me and cuddle?”
She jumps out of my embrace and replies embarrassed, “N-no! It’s fine! I don’t want to trouble you! Besides, I’m this old enough already I don’t need—”
I just take her hands in mine and asked with a slight smile, “Are you sure you don’t need it?”
She gives me a hesitant look before finally admitting defeat and laid in my embrace. We sat there, my back against the couch while I held the princess in my arms that she had her eyes closed to.
“You feel so warm,” she comments quietly breathing onto my chest where she put her head onto.
I tittered and answered, “That’s a first, most people comment on how cold my body is. I did die from drowning, you know?”
“N-no.I meant that, you remind me of how I was held by my mom,” she said finally opening her eyes but refusing to look at mine while her eyebrows furrowed.
My smile falters and I softly sigh, remembering the story that Lucifer told me. How he wanted me to be there for Charlie when he failed to do so. When he still couldn’t accept himself, when he couldn’t get better. So, I did.
“You know…” I started, “This isn’t the first time we met.”
“What do you mean?”
“7 years ago, I was asked by your father to take care of you when he couldn’t.”
“But why can’t I remember you?”
I give her a grin and asked, “Do you remember having a little stuffed turtle?”
Her eyes widen recalling her favorite toy she kept. It often felt cold but when she was distraught, feeling everything all at once, she hugs the toy and feels like she was wrapped in a warm embrace while she fell asleep crying.
“That gift was from you? I never knew, I always thought my mom gave it to me cause of the melodies it sang,” she mutters in disbelief. “How come you never came and told me?”
I smiled sadly petting her head, “Who knows? All I remember was such a broken girl. She had a hard time picking herself up after her parents split. I can’t imagine how painful it was for you.”
Her eyes welled up in tears remembering more painful times, burying her face more into my chest.
“How did you meet dad?”
“Well, I performed once in Lu Lu Land by popular demand and our friendship started from there. I was quite surprised that he wasn’t appalled by me. You know how his majesty is with sinners,” I laughed.
She only sighed, and replied, “If only he could listen to me. I’m doing this for our people and yet…”
“This might sound like an excuse but, your father, despite being the sin of pride feels ashamed of himself, Starshine. He’s ashamed that what he thought want humans needed ended up being the root of evil. He’s ashamed of the gift he gave us sinners, but he never knew or understood what good it brought to the world, only believing that he had caused all of this. For them to end up in his dominion, only reminding himself further why he’s here in the first place,” I explained to her combing through her hair, “So the next time you see your dad, go easy on him, okay? He might not be the perfect dad, but he’s the only one you got. Got it?”
She nods and smiles, “I can see why Dad became friends with you so easily. When he needed a friend the most you were there.”
We both fall into a comfortable silence and after moments gone by without saying a word to one another, I started to hum a song for her. Slowly and steadily, her breathing became even falling to a well needed rest.
--- a little later
Charlie woke up a couple hours later with a newfound energy bounding around the room trying to think of a solution to their problem. One by one, all the members of the hotel gathered round watching her fall into a spiral.
“Yikes.”
“Come on, come on, come on, come on.”
“Charlie? Sweetie? You, uh, you good?” Vaggie asks worriedly behind the couch I was sitting on, while I just looked at Charlie sipping my first tea of the morning.
“Nope! No, not really. Ha ha. I've been up all night trying to figure out why the hotel isn't working. We've done trust falls, we've tried sharing our feelings, we only have a couple months left before the angels come,” she briefly transforms into her demon form then returning, “And at this rate—"
“Maybe it's time—"
“NO.”
“—to ask—”
Charlie then runs forward closer to Vaggie screaming, “DON’T SAY IT.”
“—your dad.”
Charlie then groans while Vaggie tries to explain to her, “Charlie, I know you don't want to, but we need every advantage we can get.”
“I approve of this. Save yourself the energy,” I remark lifting my cup at her.
“Not you too…” she groans. “He let the extermination happen to begin with. They just had a meeting and said, "Go ahead and kill everyone"—gasp Wait, that's it!”
“Kill everyone?” Vaggie and I asked in unison looking at each other wide eyed.
“No! He could get me a meeting with Heaven!”
Didn't we already try that?” Vaggie asks.
“Well. yeah with Adam, he was an asshole~. But he isn't in charge of all of Heaven. We could go to the top. There's sure to be some angels who will listen,” she suggests pulling her phone out.
“What's the holdup? You got daddy issues?” Husk digs at her.
“No, we just have never been close. After he and mom split, he never really wanted to see me. He calls, sometimes, but only if he's bored or like needs me to do something,” she answers unconfidently.
“Daddy issues,” Husk smirks drinking from his mug.
“Well, I'd like to meet the big dick in charge,” Angel leans on the couch from behind me.
“The ultimate bad boy,” Niffty sings with a knife in her hands that Angel throws away, “I bet he's scary.”
I shrug, lifting my hands making the teacup disappear and answer, “Eh, he’s more like a puppy actually. Better go and get my husband filled in on the plan then. Toodles~”

A/N: AAAAAAAA one more chapter to goooo I want to draw them... if i have time...
“So, how was your.. trip..?” I ask them, holding a tray of apple pie by the door only to have Charlie rushing past me and into her room. "Do you want to take this apple pie?!"
“Is she okay?” I ask Vaggie who enters late.
Vaggie sighs and drops the luggage on the floor before she slumps on the couch. Not a moment later, the rest join us. Angel taking a picture of her first before asking, “How’d it go?”
“Horrible, absolutely horrible. Not only did they support our case but..” Vaggie drifts off looking upstairs.
“Well? Spit it out!” Husk asks losing patience.
“Charlie found out I’m a former exorcist,” she confesses guiltily.
There was a heart pause before they screamed and tackled her. Bombarding her with questions. I mean.. I did kinda think of it, but it was still surprising. I hand them the pie before setting my eyes on the bag they brought with them move from the loud noise.
“Uhh, Vaggie dear. I think your bag just move,” I alerted her.
“Did you smuggle some puppies?” Niffty asks excitedly.
“God, I hope not,” Husk grumbles.
Vaggie lets out a groan before getting up from the floor and zipped open their bags. We were greeted to the sight of fluffy feathery wings instead.
“YOU BROUGHT A BIRD!” Niffty shrieks trying to pick it up. However, it wasn’t as small as we thought it was when a head popped up from the ball of feathers, making Niffty scream and hide behind Angel startling him.
“Uhh, hi?” the person greets awkwardly trying to smile.
“What the fuck?! Why is there an angel in our bags?! How the fuck did you even squeeze in there?!” Vaggie screams holding the girl’s shoulders. “Oh shit, we’re gonna be in so much trouble.”
“I’d appreciate it if you’d stop shaking me first,” she responds with a laugh dizzy from from Vaggie’s actions. She shakes her head comically to clear her head and replies, “I heard that Heaven let in some folks from the Devildom, and I wanted to talk to you! So, I waited but then you arrived all angry, so I just hid in your luggage instead.”
Vaggie makes a face trying to comprehend the girl’s train of thoughts that led her here, with a hand in the air as if trying to say, ‘That doesn’t sound logical.’
The girl sighs and confesses, “Truth is, I wanted to come down here and find my parents. I’ve searched heaven for years and I didn’t find them. So, I took my chances here.”
Then at realization, I drop and knelt in front of the girl turning her head to face me. With tears in my eyes, I whisper, “It is you. It’s you! I missed you so much!”
“Mom!” she cries burying herself in my hug.
Around us another round of scream’s echo in the room unable to process the series of events that happened back-to-back. After calming everyone down and settling them down on the couch while Vaggie, Abby and I stood in front of them, somewhat like a class presentation.
“You’re a former exorcist?” Angel starts.
“Where’s your wings?” Niffty asks.
“I don’t have—”
“Did you ever think maybe she's sensitive about her lack of wings, just like her lack of tits?”
“Yeah. Where are your tits?” Niffty asks tugging at her shirt.
“sigh Any other questions?”
“Who’s the kid?”
“I’m Abigail Calliope. Daughter of Alastor and Miledy Calliope, and I’m not a kid!” Abby huffs.
“How old did you die anyway? You look pretty young though.”
“20. I got into an accident while volunteering,” she explains.
“Figures how you got into heaven. Kinda crazy how that batshit crazy radio demon has a daughter though,” Angel gestures with all four hands.
“You said it,” Husk murmurs downing a bottle of whiskey.
“Well, I did a lot of convincing,” I answer brushing Abby’s hair off her face. “I don’t regret a single thing.”
She gives me a smile before we see a green flash coming from upstairs. ‘My crazy husband did it,’ I thought in awe, getting the princess of hell to get a deal with him was surprising given that she was so on-guard around him.
“Who’s that?” Abby asks turning to me.
I give her a grin and answer, “Your father.”
Her eyes lit up finally getting to see her father after decades. Charlie and Alastor comes down and finds Abby. Surprised that an angel was here by herself.
“Who is—?”
“That can wait. I think you guys have something planned, we’ll talk on the way!” I say pushing Charlie out the door, Alastor and Abby behind us. I look behind me and find Abby being shy looking away from Alastor, while Alastor was eyeing her intently still not recognizing her.
“Wait! We can’t have her walk around the city with that look!” Charlie stops us, then turning to Abby. She casts a spell changing her clothes into a blue dress that was trendy these days along with demon horns headband.
“Your wings, dear,” I tell her which she immediately hides away.
“Sooo, who is she?” Charlie asks with Alastor next to her.
“When you came back from your trip, this little troublemaker slid into your luggage and travelled to hell here with you,” I say nipping Abby’s nose. “This is our daughter, Abigail.”
“Pleasure to meet you! Quite the please!” Abby greets with his father’s cadence shocking the both of them.
“I just went through a massive sense of déjà vu,” Charlie says holding her head before shaking Abby’s outstretched hand.
“Goodness! Sunshine! Look how much you’ve grown!” Alastor exclaims lifting Abby in his arms. “You’ve grown into such a beautiful lady.”
“Dad! I missed you so much,” she excitedly screams hugging her father which he welcomed with a gleeful laugh.
“Youuuu have a daughter???” Charlie drawls in shock pointing at Alastor who put down Abby.
“Is it that surprising?” Alastor says petting Abby’s head.
“YES!?” Charlie yells.
“How about we head to Cannibal Town now. We’re kinda wasting time now,” I say leading them down the road. “Isn’t this fun? We look like family!”
“What? Why are we going to cannibal town?” Charlie asks, Abby looking around confused and disturbed by the sights around her, before we arrived the quaint little town.
“There’s a friend of mine I think you should meet. It’s also a good opportunity to introduce Abby to her too!” Alastor says escorting Abby and leading in front of us.
“In Cannibal Town? But it’s, it’s… surprisingly nice here,” Charlie says changing her mind.
“Right? We actually have a residency here. We try to come by when we can. Reminds us of home,” I explain to the girls.
“Isn't it though? and it's all thanks to a very special someone,” Alastor says opening the door for us.
We see Rosie attending to her costumer before she notices us by the entrance, “Oh, my, stars! Do my eyes deceive me? Alastor. Alastor! Where have you been??? These halls really lost some of their sparkle without your lively presence and—," she notices me and says, “Miledy! Sweetheart! You haven’t called me in weeks!”
She glances the girls beside us and comments, “Oh. Who's this ya brought with you? Come now, Alastor, she's much too young for you! Oh I'm just kidding. I know you're an Ace in the hole.” I coughed a laugh at her, which she appreciated that someone got her joke.
“A what now?”
“But where are your manners mister? Introduce us why don't you?”
“Ahh, yes. Charlie, Abigail, this is Rosie, the most darling, delightful and dangerous Overlord this side of the Pentagram!” Alastor introduces Rosie.
“Oh! Always such a charmer.”
“And Rosie, it's my pleasure to introduce you to princess Charlie Morningstar. Daughter of Lucifer and heir to the throne of Hell!” Alastor pushes Charlie, then Abby, “and last but not least, this is Abigail Calliope, Miledy and I’s pride and joy!”
“How do you do?” Charlie greets nervously with a wave, while our daughter happily returns their high energy.
“Well, well! isn't this a regal surprise! Come in! Come in! Can I offer you somethin' to eat? I'm sure I have a leg around here or somethin'. Oh, what am I thinkin'? Small thing like you? You're probably watchin' your figure! How bout some nice pinkie fingers instead?” Rosie offers a box to the pair.
“Um...No. no, thank you, though,” Charlie says refusing for the both of them.
“Oh look at you!” Rosie gushes patting both of their heads, “so polite! Alastor, you could learn a thing o' two.”
“Well, sit down. Sit down. Tell Auntie Rosie what she can do for you. Ya know, Alastor. I got a premo-connect on a guy with about eight blocks of territory and not enough goons to run it. Prime pickin's for a deal to be made, my friend.” Rosie tells Alastor making a gesture.
“What does that mean, mom?” Abby asks me while we stood behind Charlie as they talked.
“Here in hell, demons grow their power by accumulating deals, these deals could be anything but the ultimate price they pay is their souls,” I explain to her, “I’m sorry you have to go through this, Abby. I know how drastic of a change this will be, so if you decide to go back to heaven, we’ll help you.”
She hastily shaking her head, refusing the suggestion, “As fun as it is there. It didn’t have you or dad,” she replies sincerely making me let out a sigh of relief then hugging her.
---later
“Now, fair warning. This group sticks together. So, in order to convince any of them, you'll need to convince all of them. And there's one in particular—" Rosie pauses thinking of the appropriate word.
“Uuuugh, Susan,” Alastor states in distate.
“Susan, who's a bit of an... uh—”
“Ornery old bitch?”
“That! She's tough, but win her over and the rest will be easy as pie. Ready?”
“I guess.”
Charlie goes off into an unenthusiastic speech, making me internally cringe paired with how the cannibals strongly reacted against her.
“FUCK YOU, YOU OLD BITCH!” Charlie screams flipping Susan off.
“Welp. Okay everyone! We’ll be back after a brief intermission!” I call over the microphone while Rosie drags a huffing Charlie backstage. “Any song requests?!”
While I was singing for the crowd while Charlie and Rosie sorted themselves, in the corner of my eye I see Alastor and Abby talking.
“I almost forgot how wonderfully mom sang,” Abby states looking at her mother in awe.
“Definitely one you grow to love even more with each and every song,” Alastor adds.
“Absolutely! I kept every recording I could get my hands on,” Abby replies enthusiastically.
Alastor laughs and tells her, “I heard you also kept old recordings of my radio shows.”
Abby blushes and confesses, “I was still young when you left so, I got every recording I could find just to remember how you sounded.”
Alastor sighs and give a small smile and pets her head, “I won’t go anywhere this time.”
Abby smiles and hugs his dad. Just then Rosie and Charlie come back looking better. I stand with my family while Alastor hands her his microphone. While we watched her sing more confidently than earlier, catching everyone’s attention. Abby looks at her amazed how she got them to join her.
“They're dancing along. They're singing her song,” Rosie sang her hands clasped together.
“Surprised? Why, I knew she could do it all along,” Alastor and I sang together.
“She's bound to pass the test as Princess of Hell. Like her Daddy she is madly power-fell!” we sang and danced together, making Abby gush at how we blended our voice together.
“She's filled with potential that I could guide,” Alastor looks at Charlie sinisterly.
“I concur!” Rosie and I sang slinging our elbows with Alastor.
“Stick with her, you'll be on the winning side.”
We lead the Cannibals to the hotel where we meet up with Vaggie who brought the weapons with her.
---later
We take Abby to our room where she immediately notices the forest, “Oh! This looks like the cabin we had.”
“Well, a replica of it,” Alastor says taking off his coat and putting it on a hanger in a closet.
“How was your first day here?” I ask her, pulling her to sit with me by the fireplace.
“It was definitely something,” she laughs off nervously, “But aside from the vulgarities, it seems like fun. And, I want to work here, at the hotel. Though I’m... different, I want to help sinners redeem themselves and reach heaven. Is… that okay?”
Alastor and I share a look before giving her a smile, “Of course it is, Sunshine. Why wouldn’t it be? We want you to do whatever you like, you’re free to do so. We’re family.”
Tears form in her eyes and drip down her cheeks, we gave her a big hug to comfort her. Finally, a family again.

“Husband, dear,” I called for him closing the door behind me.
I find him on the chair by the fireplace, reading a book with his glasses on. I join him, smoothing out his shoulders with a gentle touch which he gave a satisfied hum to.
“What is it?” he asks placing a bookmark and closed the book. He puts it on the side table holds my hand pulling me in front of him.
“I just came to tell you something Charlie has planned,” I say brushing his hair, “she’s inviting over her father to help with her situation.”
He tenses up, he pulls his lips into an annoyed grin. I tilt my head, confused why he reacted so strongly at the mention of Lucifer. So, I ask, “What’s wrong?”
His smile fades into a guilty one and replies, “Miledy, you know I love you with all my heart but I wish I could tell you.”
I fall silent, a million questions appearing in my head before I finally spoke up once again, “Is it related to why you were gone?”
He heaved a breath as he stands, dipping a kiss on my forehead then holds me briefly in a tight squeeze and replies, “Don’t worry, it’s nothing too dangerous. I won’t let anything happen to you, love.”
I gave a deep sigh, trying to calm myself from the piling frustration but I needed to keep it together and trust him. Like we always do.
Just then, the memories of him leaving Abby and I in the cabin never to return flashed in my mind. I clasped his dress shirt in distress, feeling sweat form on my back and my body shaking.
Alastor pauses and looks at me in deep worry. He holds my shoulders and tries to look me in the eye, “Love, love what’s wrong?”
I remain unresponsive feeling my leg lose their strength as I fall onto his arms never once letting go of him. We settled on the carpet while Alastor held me close, letting me hear the soothing beating of his heart next to mine that was thumping loudly and erratically.
“Shit. Miledy, Miledy can you hear me? It’s ok, it’s ok. I’m here.”
After a while of getting to calm me down, he waits for me to say something still rubbing my back in a soothing manner.
“You have to promise me, Al. Please don’t leave me behind,” I whimpered, “I can’t lose you again.”
His heart clenches at the sight of her, she looks so broken and afraid. I never stopped feeling guilty of breaking his promise and leaving her behind to look after Abby all alone. It must have been hard for her. It also made him angry with himself for being the same deadbeat dad that he had resented for all his living life. He was also afraid of thinking that he was unworthy of Miledy’s love, he broke his promise, left her alone and was so weak. That’s why he craved power, power to destroy everyone that would even dare to harm him and his family, so that one day they could live in peace. Something that he failed to do.
“I’ll never leave you, not now. Not anymore,” he says with a heavy heart.
“You’re stuck with me either way,” he say, trying to lighten the mood which I appreciated and smiled to. I leaned on him and enjoyed the sounds of the crackling flames and the beating of our hearts in sync. Finding solace in the mundane.

Alastor and I stand side-by-side as we welcomed Lucifer to the hotel. He jumps in and hugs Charlie almost immediately. To which Alastor’s eye twitches in annoyance at.
“Oh, it's so good to see you. Haha!” he greets squeezing her making her let out a little squeak.
“It's uh, good to see you too, Dad,” Charlie strains out before Lucifer lets go her continuing, “Welcome to the Hazbin Hotel!”
The little Eggbois popped some party poppers with a quick fanfare, only to find Lucifer being distracted by the cat.
“Oh hewwo KeeKee!” he greets the cat and continues with the lambs, “Razzle, Dazzle. Oh, look how much you haven't grown. Still fun sized. You taking care of my wittle girl? You better be.”
“Wow! This place sure looks, uh...uh huh yah uh huh...It's got a lot of character!” he comments trying to be polite at the interior.
“OH, what in the unholy hell is that?!” he screams pointing at the bar looking back at us.
Alastor takes us behind Lucifer in his shadow before reappearing and replies, “Just some of the renovations we had done. Adds a bit of color, don't you think?”
Lucifer’s eyes drift to mine exclaiming in delight, “Miledy! Great to see you again, I haven’t heard from you for a while.”
We shake hands politely, something that Alastor seems to heavily dislike by pulling away my hand from the fallen angels'.
“I got busy you could say. I was waiting for the chance you’d come to the hotel actually. Glad to see you here!” I reply trying to be enthusiastic trying to hold my husband from throwing a tantrum.
“I see you’re well acquainted with my wife,” Alastor interjects with venom in his tone.
“And you are?” Lucifer eyes him suspiciously, also reciprocating the feeling of dislike.
“Alastor, Miledy’s lawful husband. Pleasure to be meeting you, sir. Quite a pleasure,” he introduces with a hint of displeasure, shaking Lucifer’s cane before wiping it on his coat with disgust, “It's nice to finally put a face to the name. You are much shorter in real life.”
I coughed trying to hide my giggle but then realize I’m around the same height as him. Then my eyes following them as they had their silly banter.
“Who is this? Who is this nut? Are you the bellhop?”
“Aha! No! I am the host of the hotel. You might have heard of me from my radio broadcast.”
“Hmm, nope! I guess that's why Charlie called it the Has-been Hotel, ahaha.”
“Ha ha ha. It was actually my idea.”
“Ahaha. Well, it's not very clever.”
“Ha ha! Fuck you.”
“Woah. Okay!” Charlie and I yell while she pulls his father away to the parlor while I grab his waist pulling him in the other direction before a cat fight would start. “Okay, anyway. Dad, look at this lovely parlor where people can get to know each other and share secrets and stories and intimate feelings! Without Alastor, we wouldn't have been able to pretty it up this much.”
“Charlie has a very unique vision. I am happy to fulfil her bizarre requests,” Alastor goes back escaping from me and puts a hand on Charlie’s shoulder.
“Oh, thank you, Alastor,” Charlie says tearing up, finally getting the fatherly attention she deserved.
“Quite an impressive young lady. We're all very proud of her,” Alastor eggs on lifting her chin with his finger with a devious smile.
“Ahem, Charlie! Dear, eheh, why don't you introduce me to your OTHER friends?” Lucifer exclaims pointing to the group behind him.
As a friend I do feel bad for him, but this is the reality check he needed. For him to see that nothing will change if he isn’t willing. Alastor fighting with him might finally knock some sense into him, but so far. He really is a prideful thing he is.
“I am not helping you,” I state crossing my arms not even looking at my husband.
He laughs it off and shrugs, “With what? I’m not going to fight him.”
“Uh-huh,” I say not convinced. Only to put my suspicions proven when the chandelier falls, and they start singing. “Well, here we go.”
While I was enjoying their song, Mimzy barges in singing her heart out. I looked at her surprised, what was she doing here? It could be 2 things, she wants something or she’s in deep shit. Or a combination of both given her character.
I roll my eyes as Alastor and Mimzy exchanged hugs. Talking about our lives on Earth and stuff. We used to be friends but, you know, stuff happens. I sighed and sat down by the bar waiting for some crazy shit to happen now that all the chaos forces were here.
“Miledy! How’s it been going?” Mimzy asks as she takes the glass Husk slides at her while he gives me mine.
“Nothing much. Probably better off than you,” I snicker sipping the alcoholic blend.
“Psh, you can’t be serious. You’re still mad about what happened before?” she asks infuriated.
“You rang me, telling me you wanted to hang out then made me sit with 5 men at the bar and just said the morning after ‘thanks for covering for me?’ Are you insane?” I asked angrily, my hair flaring out as my teeth sharpened and bared them at her.
“It was just one time!”
“You did it twice! You better be grateful I haven’t told Alastor given you’ve been friends for so long,” I reply downing my drink and slamming it down.
Husk, Angel and Pentious were surprised by my outburst. Clearly, this was their first time seeing me lose my cool despite being collected around them. It couldn’t be helped, not if the one you’re sitting next to you made you a scapegoat a few times. I would find bills in our mailbox because of her. It wasn’t cheap either.
I grumbled pouring myself a drink and ignored her excuses. While Husk went probably to tell Alastor. Half an hour later, someone starts hammering on the door yelling for Mimzy, as she explains she stole 50 grand and drove over someone. Why am I not surprised.
“All of you! Get a safe distance, I'll take care of this,” Vaggie yells getting in front of everyone with her spear.
Before she could reach the loan sharks, Alastor steps in and says, “No, my dear, leave it to me. It's time I remind everyone why I am here.”
“Oh, finally! Took you long enough!” Mimzy yells behind the counter, making me bonk her over the head with bottle lightly before standing next to Alastor and changed into our demon forms.
“A reminder to all, not to mess with the radio/siren demon!” We announced both our forms towering over them.
I towered over them with my 15 ft form startling them from the sheer size. They quiver as they see my mouth pull into a sadistic teethy grin similar to Alastor's. Alastor slams down his tendrils while I held a note holding them down while they got crushed.
“I will devour each and every one of you!” Alastor exclaims gobbling them down, while they were paralyzed.
After defeating all of them we shrink back down to our normal selves.
“Oh, I missed getting to let off steam!” Alastor states with a hearty laugh, while I panted beside him.
“God, I haven’t turned into that form for a while. I forgot how tiring it is,” I wheezed.
“Oh, Alastor! What a fantastic show! Bravo! As always. Thanks for helping lil' old me out of a tougher spot, you're always such a pal!” Mimzy thanked him, while I glared at her. This was her mess to begin with. As a debris falls beside her, “Oops. Heheh… sorry about the mess, but I'm sure the little bug can take care of it for you.”
Before I could roll my eyes, Alastor says something that surprised me, “I think you should go Mimzy, now.”
Mimzy visibly shocked, tries to play it off, “Oh pff, Alastor, you're such a kidder you! Haha, you are so funny!”
“I mean it. You deliberately brought danger to this place just to have me clean up your mess. I can't have that here,” he deadpans not even looking at her.
“But you love taking care of me! What? You don't actually give a shit about this tacky place, do ya? Come on, I know you. You heartless son-of-a-bitch~” she iterates poking him on the chest.
“You are welcome if you actually want to give redemption a shot, but I think we both know that's not really your style, so you need to leave.”
“Fine! Who needs you? Have fun with your little princess and your little hotel! See if I care!”
After she flips off Alastor and storms out, he turns back to me with the same look. I flinch and ask, “W-what?”
“I know what she did to you, so why didn’t you tell me?” he demanded an explanation.
“Because! Both of you were long time friends before we got together, and thanks to her I got a start in my career,” I replied hugging myself, unsure now if I made the best decision.
“I’m not mad at you, but the next time something similar happens come to me. You’re my wife, Mel. I put you above than everybody else,” he says sincerely brushing my cheek to which I nodded to.
When we got inside the hotel, Lucifer and Charlie had a confrontation. One that they both desperately needed.
“I wish we could see our little girl again,” I whisper while leaning on Alastor.
“I’m sure she’s doing fine, darling” he says putting his arm around me and squeezing my shoulder.
After closing their song in a hug, Lucifer says this, “Ok, I can get you the meeting but once you're in Heaven, I won't be able to go with you. Will you be ok?”
“I'll be fine,” she assures.
“That's my girl,” he smiles then smiles, “Good luck, kiddo.”
He then disappears in a red mist leaving us to deal with the aftermath of everything.
“This next part is going to be scary. You ready?” Vaggie asks walking towards Charlie.
“I'm ready,” Charlie says as she hugs her, “cuz you'll be with me.”
“In spirit, right?” Vaggie asks unsure if they’re on the same page.
“In Heaven!” Charlie exclaims looking at the sky.
“Yay…” her girlfriend chants unenthusiastically feeling regret for asking.
“Have a nice trip!” I say with a smile, “We still have to clean up this up first though.”
