ABSOLUTELY 100% yes

the way this fandom just flat out ignores them annoys me way too much to be honest.

to me it reeks of that stan culture mindset where the only “worthy” love interest for their favorite character could only be one of the major super duper special characters.

that said, I love their dynamic and banter, Aryacels please consider them 🙏

Season 7 of game of thrones is kinda a train wreck but that one scene where gendry discovers gay people exist did unfortunately make me laugh hysterically for no other reason than Jon’s expression like why does he seem like he knows something about it

Gendry's plotline of going from a poor orphan boy, to finding out he's the bastard son of the dead king, to becoming the Lord of one of the Seven Kingdoms (making him basically a King too) is insane.

Actual class mobility in the Seven Kingdoms.

Okay so quick thing on Gendry—

There's not much immediate evidence for this. But given the way that Martin mixes and matches names, mangling consonants and vowels to create variations, and typically (though not consistently) isn't necessarily on the nose with his application of first names…

It is unlikely that the name "Gendry" is related to "gentry". Not impossible, but unlikely.

Especially when there's the name Hendry to think about, in Scots, which he (I do believe) draws a few other names from. And Hendry? Well. That's just the local version of Henry.

Henry the Smith, everyone.
