Mirror's build
My Hollow Knight OC, Mirror, has a total of 8 Charm Notches.
One was looted from the corpse in the Lighthouse inside the Abyss,
Another was a gift from the White Lady, as an apology for how she treated her children,
Two were bought from Salubra,
One was scavenged in the Junk Pit,
One was looted in the rich neighborhood of the City of Tears,
One was looted from a corpse in Nosk's lair,
And one was hidden away in Hallownest's Crown.
With those Charm Notches, Mirror carries the following charms:
Wayward Compass, bought from Iselda
Soul Catcher, a gift from the Snail Shaman when it mastered all the spells
Quick Slash, a gift from Little Ghost, so that Mirror could defend itself with it's dented nail
And Sharp Shadow, which it found in the liquid void of the Abyss.
When Mirror grew up, long after Little Ghost's sacrifice, they acquired a new nail from the Nailsmith, and fought in the Colosseum of Fools. After winning and earning a 9th Charm Notch, they added a charm of their own making to their collection.

A Charm born from the will to get up and keep fighting.
When the bearer's Nail is blocked, newfound strenght will send the opponent back a few steps.
When an enemy blocks you with nail or shield, it knocks them back, basically. Doesn't work on the Goam or the Garpede.
