The workshop today was very successful! We had a show debate and had speeches from the adjudicators present: Mr Steven Lee and Mr Ben So. Below is the draw that was released today. Introduction to the HKIDC 2012

Dear all,

I write to you on behalf of the Hong Kong Interschool Debating Organisation (HKIDO) to formally invite your participation in the inaugural Hong Kong Interschool Debating Championship (HKIDC) 2012 edition, which is an unprecedented student – pioneered championship.

The HKIDC was formed, to provide a championship whereby students from all participating schools will have opportunities to debate in a fair, competitive and challenging environment on many different topics ranging from politics to the environment.

HKIDO 2012 edition will be building onto last year’s success by adopting itsframework and extending its purpose through several new additions. In order to capacitate for growing interest, this year’s tournament will accommodate 20 teams,which will compete through three preliminary rounds. In order to increase the level of debating, speeches will be extended to 5 minutes to strengthen engagement and analytical skills. Finally experienced adjudicators and Hong Kong national teamdebaters will run a workshop as a platform for new students to gain more insight and experience.
