Sooooo...... it's been a while since my last Snowdrop Conception Fic blurb..... I want to get back in the mood and since Illusio is back... <3
Zayne still can't believe his wife is pregnant. Pregnant. With his child. Conceived... on his recent birthday.
It was a very memorable birthday indeed... one he certainly would never forget. From that moment on the couch... to the bedroom... the way he had her—
She pokes at his cheek, teasing him and asking why his ears are red.
He tells her she is mistaken, and she pouts at him. He chuckles, finding her more adorable than usual. Sulking, belly barely rounding, and still very much a brat around him.
But his.
His brat.
His wife. His. His. His.
And now she is the expecting mother of his child.
He is over the moon, feeling like everything he could have ever wanted is coming true. A new chapter in their life together is beginning, and he is more than ready to step into the future with her by his side.
He checks on her, asking if she's tired. The first trimester is always the hardest. He knows she's been feeling a lot of fatigue lately, and they had been out around the city all day long.
She tells him she's not.
A lie.
He looks at her sternly, and she sheepishly admits she is, but just as quickly, she tells him she doesn't want this day to end yet.
His eyes soften. It had been a while since they were together like this, and for the next few months, these will be their last moments alone together as a couple before they become a family of three.
He reassures her they still have a lot of time together. A whole lifetime, he insists, but he smiles at her unrelenting pout.
She's still not pleased. It's going to be different, she mumbles.
Uh oh. He smirks, sensing the first sign of her pregnancy hormones clouding her usual rational judgment.
"Are you having second thoughts?" he teases her, but she really is not as quick as she normally is.
She panicks and now it's her turn to reassure him she's happy about the pregnancy, but she is still feeling bittersweet about losing their time alone together. She is rambling, completely word vomiting, and only stops when Zayne starts laughing. Her face is red as she realizes he was messing with her.
"How mean," she sniffs, "You shouldn't be making fun of a pregnant woman..."
Crocodile tears. He calls her out on it, knowing her enough to recognize when she's faking it to mess with him.
She huffs, embarrassed by both her earlier emotional outburst and now being called out on her fake tears. She turns her head away, arms crossed over her chest. She pretends to ignore him.
Her pride is wounded, and now she doesn't know how to recover to face him like before.
Zayne apologizes.
She ignores him.
He laughs to himself. Okay. He knows what to do next.
"Are you hungry?"
She pauses. She is hungry, but she doesn't want to give in to him so quickly... so easily.
She ignores him. Again.
Zayne smiles. How stubborn.
He looks at his phone, and starts suggesting some restaurants nearby.
Hamburger?
Silence.
Okay. Ramen.
She huffs.
Zayne smiles.
Pasta.
Her stomach growls.
"Does the baby want pasta then?" he teases her.
"That's not fair... the baby is like the size of a seed right now..."
"Then do you want pasta?"
She pouts at him once more.
"Use your words, my love," he orders playfully.
She glares at him. "You're so mean today."
"Then why did you look so happy just now?"
Busted.
Okay, she'll meet him halfway.
"Zaynie, I want an omurice!"
He chuckles at her abrupt positive attitude change, and he looks at his phone again, searching for a restaurant with that dish on the menu. She also tells him she wants karaage too, and she lists so many other dishes she likes. Curry, tonkatsu...
"What about your morning sickness?"
She's fine. Mostly.
"You'll help me finish what I can't, right?" She is all bright-eyed again, practically grinning at him, already knowing the answer.
He sighs. Somehow he had turned into her garbage disposal husband recently. Then again, perhaps it's just like when they were children and he helped her finish those extra helpings of food his mother had served her. Maybe he should stock up on some digestive tablets again...
"Yes," he answers solemnly, surprising her. He holds her chin gently, his eyes meeting hers. His whole future is right in front of him. The rest of his life is here.
He is ready to spend the next several months doting on her, pleasing her, indulging in all of her whims, and care for her just as he had promised during his wedding vows.
She is giving him the greatest gift she could ever give.
Their child.
So, he wants her to know just how loved and cherished she is. How he would give her everything she wanted and more.
He is hers. She is his. And this baby is theirs.
