These French Men o' War was taken 3 May 1747 in the first battle of Cape Finisterre. On the right to see, King George II is going onboard his yacht Carolina, attended by his Lordships Commander in Chief of the Squadron that conveyed him to Holland.

Departure of the traveling parties from the H.M.S Resolute and H.M.S. Intrepid 1853 during their mission to find the missing Franklin Expedition, by George F. McDougall from his book The Eventful Voyage of HM Discovery Resolute to the Arctic Regions.

Just one year later HMS Resolute was abandoned after she trapped in the Ice. But she was recovered by Whalers and brought back 1856 to Queen Victoria. After that she served for the Royal Navy till 1879 but never left the home waters again.
