Seeing the Light Research- Herb Ritts
DREW BARRYMORE- DIFFUSED LIGHTING
Herb has managed to create the perfect composition and shape to compliment Drews complexion and personality. He shows hat even though she is young, she is strong, despite having a rough background. He has diffused the light placed upon her to keep smooth textures and details of her hair, face and neck. He has kept a soft light in her eye and lips, and baby having the image black and white he has highlighted the paleness of her hair and skin and also the softness of her being/ form.

I have an idea for my short movie, involving ICE SKATING. . . Perhaps a story of ice skating for the first time again? or a person once in love with the art of figure skating - on the ice again. (shots of the skates, preparation, hesitation, movement.)
to be a silent film? with maybe a track of music dubbed over the video

“GIFT” FINAL IMAGE
These four images are from The New York Times, Time magazine, and Life. These images I feel tell a story very well - especially the last image of the doctor. I feel these images have great emotion, and all focus on the subject very well whilst maintaining the ability to tell a story.
The first image: plays with the idea of a tear falling from the eye of Lincoln - which co-exists with the whole theme of why they are still fighting a civil war.
The second image: I feel this is a standout image, with the soldier being in uniform - the viewer is instantly familiar with what they are looking at.
The third image: This image is my favorite of the four, the framing of this shot gives great depth to the scene, the colors are very grey with a sort of green to me, which works well with the subjects suit. the face of the subject is well lit and the pose is very eye catching.
The fourth image: I feel this image has great emotion, and focuses on the subject very well whilst maintaining the ability to tell a story. The emotion on the doctors face to me says worry or exhaustion, which is exactly how i imagine any healthcare worker to be feeling since the pandemic started.
Environmental Portrait Shoot 1 Plan
Location: Wing Tsjun Glasgow
Time: 3p.m.
Model: Oana Stan
Location: Wing Tsjun Glasgow, Shawlands
Environment: Internal Studio for Martial Arts
Theme: Martial Arts, movement
Lighting: Off camera flash bouncing on walls, bounce umbrellas + the lighting in the studio
Purpose: Environmental shots of Oana, to show her abilities as a master Martial Artist and her talent and struggles to achieve that.
Health & Safety: I will be wearing a mask, Oana will not because she is exempt. I will be standing far back enough to not risk getting hit during some of the movement and I will make sure there are no cables from my flash in her way.
