....I gotta ask, are you making shitposts about me and my fic instead of messaging me or commenting that you didn't like my comment and found it thoughtless/hurtful? I am sorry if me saying I found most of the other fic in this fandom "vanilla" hurt your feelings, that was not my intent since vanilla isn't bad. In real life I play very hard, but you're right that it's not an excuse for me to go shaming on other people. Still, you could have handled this better, especially by not misgendering me.

My feelings weren’t hurt, so much as I thought it classless to insult other fic in your author’s note.

I had no idea you were also on tumblr when I made a post about it, if I’d known I would never have referenced my personal gripe here in an arena where you would likely have seen it. 

I’m sorry for that, I have no interest in making anyone feel bad for the small things that might bother me, rather inconsequentially at the end of the day. I was just moaning about something I considered small, where I thought there would be no impact from doing so.

And I’m also unequivocally sorry to have had any part in misgendering you, it didn’t even occur to me to check if the anon that sent me the message was using the correct pronouns to reference you.

I certainly could have handled this better and I am sorry.

It has been a huge privelage to work with Hobbit, they’ve taken every instance of lazy writing on my part (valar, I am such a lazy writer) and transformed it into pure smutty hotness.

Heya, just so you know, that quote post you reblogged about callout culture is part of an article that not only uses the n-word but says radfems are "a tiny and powerless minority of transphobes". Given that some 'powerless' radfems have wildly succeeded in ruining the lives of trans women, I'm inclined to distrust and side-eye the author of that article. They are clearly ignorant of some of the actual realities of oppressions they're discussing, which makes me doubt their critical lens.

I do see your point about the radfems (I feel that the article makes it clear that they are using “tranny” and “nigger” in context of pretend dialogue, and are careful to call them “the N word” and other euphemisms elsewhere) but overall I agree with the article.

Especially this bit: “Callout culture has some incredibly oppressive dynamics. For all its conversation about not caring about the precious feefees of the cis white dudes, callout culture has this remarkable tendency to target women and queer men. [...] leftist groups are always far more interested in fighting the People’s Front of Judea than we are in fighting the Romans. And partially it’s because nothing is more perennially popular than femmephobia, queerphobia, and misogyny.“

I think there’s really something to that. I see this in fandom, too: how many TV shows/movies about white dudes do we need? And yet the second a semi-progressive media product appears--Agent Carter and Urbance spring to mind--we rip it apart because it doesn’t touch all the bases. Is that because of some internalized shit on our parts?
