When Frodo finally entered the valley of Imladris, he felt a great sense of relief. The final leg of his journey had been much more difficult than he anticipated--not because of the terrain, but because of the memories. But all of that was left behind the moment that Frodo smelled the peaceful air and heard the gentle breeze.
He'd lost count of the number of times he had checked on the status of the Red Book, but he had to check one last time before finding Bilbo. The book was intact and perfectly unscathed. Nervousness entered Frodo's mind briefly as he wondered whether Bilbo would approve of Frodo's addition, but Frodo knew better than to dwell on such anxiety.
Elrond showed Frodo to Bilbo's room, and Frodo knocked on the door.
