Day #2: spent my day off painting the first of my new Nurgle-lovin chonky bois. Such good fun to paint - these are really great models. For the first time, too, I’ve painted properly piece by piece, only gluing after all but a few outer details are done. I’ve always resisted doing this because it’s felt like it would be less fun, but it’s been great! Much easier, the final result is much better, and there’s something special about assembling a painted model and seeing it all coming together.

Is it normal/attractive to play Slay The Spire to this level?

There. I did it. One tiny little skeleton man.

I haven't painted in like almost 2 years and my muscle memory and brush control are gone. But he was grey plastic this morning and now he is many-colored plastic so we are calling him a success.

Went to an arcade in a mall recently and they had a Marble of Souls in there, so I played it and won some cards hehe. Those things are LOUD, like piercingly LOUD. I could hear it screeching bitcrushed vampire killer throughout the whole arcade, partially because of how loud it was and partially because I heard vampire killer and immediately tuned out everything else. Had a really nice conversation with the people at the ticket counter too, one of them was a fan of the games and they were all really nice :). Really interesting experience, I guess now I get to say I’ve fed Konami’s gambling addiction 💀💀💀. I’ve got Simon and Maria in card protectors rn (only had two) and I plan to get more protectors to put cute little stickers on them lol. Might put Simon in a lanyard or my wallet XD. But for now they’re just sitting on a shelf for display :3.

Okay, this is a lovely product, well presented, a nice unboxing experience, sweet little brushes and very good price. You can immediately see and feel that the build quality is good and that care and thought have gone into this package. So far, highly recommended. My dude now has an eye!

Hi hobby streak miniature painting friends - I have a question. Do you prime your minis with a spray can, and if you do, does the smell linger on the figures permanently? When I was younger and painting warhammer the first time round (25 years ago now) I found that my minis just smelled of spray paint forever. Nowadays, I prime with a brush, because I don’t want the smell, but I guess it’s a lot of time since then so wanted to see how other people experience this. Do you find that spray priming makes your minis smell long-term?

Day #3: another Ork! These models are fantastic. Went a bit darker on this one, with skin tone and the reds, and I like the effect. I love the little details - the bullet casings on the base and flying out of the side of the gun, the ammo falling out of the backpack, and the little bit of stitching on the butt of his pants. Also, very happy with the sub assembly approach to painting. This was quick for me - three hours in total.

Not sure whether to do another ork or another plaguebearer next.
