This Week Marvin Learns: Trapeze
I continue to channel my inner Dick Grayson as this week I take to the air to learn the basics of trapeze. Before the class I was worried I'd be sore from my Aerial Silk class, but I guess my muscles didn't care because I did a great job. As far as the "class" portion goes, I was the only person there that had never done trapeze before and thus my tutelage was quite short. Pretty much: here's the bar, bend your knees, swing like this, and listen to me.
So I hopped right in and got to it; the first go just swinging back and forth, and the focus of the second to just get my legs on the bar. Knocked out both then moved onto the difficult stuff, they brought in a catcher so I could perform a Heels Off (or is it a Hocks Off? I forget the difference between the two). And that trick involves me: swinging out, getting my legs on the bar, jumping to a catcher on a different bar, and then being thrown back onto my original bar; pretty simple.
Apart from the back of knees getting roughed up, I loved trapeze and would definitely revisit it given the opportunity.
