eden made me do it
also struggling with if I can really say what I want to say with my story
and if what I want to say is actually what I want to say
The thing with internet speak is that "you're dumb" and "ur dumb" convey two different things. But writing a fic set in a vaguely medieval fantasy world means I can't have the character say "ur dumb" even though that's what I mean when I have her say "you're dumb."
Good news!
I'm back on my bullshit!
Finally posted the next chapter of hand of fate
Oh my god, it took me a month and a half but I've finally finished chapter twenty (21 on ao3 since the prologue technically has the ch 1 spot).
Needs another pass of editing before I post, but I should be posting it next Saturday.
...Only to announce that I'll try to knock out a few more chapters before going back to posting regularly. But we have a week so maybe I'll have a few more chapters done by then. We'll see.
"Accidentally" making a character nonbinary because it's hard to justify why a childlike forest spirit that looks like a tree stump gives a shit about human gender anyway. And there's nothing particularly gendered about a leaf stuck to the side of a tree stump as a mask/face.
And frankly, with so much other shit going on, why would Link or Zelda be asking?
Zelda games since the beginning: keys are an important part of dungeon design and progression.
