PRIDE

you cling desperately to the illusion that you are better than everyone else. Smarter, prettier, more desirable. You are those things, you tell yourself. You HAVE to be. Because if you aren't better than everyone else, how can you ever be their equal? I am good enough, I am good enough, I AM good enough. Am I good enough? If I cannot prove my right to exists, my right to be here, do I even belong here at all?

@hojc​​ sent: "Kagome...You don't look well. Have you been taking any vitamin C supplements?" Hojo asks nicely. "I've got some here if you want any. Heh, best in the market." 

Hojo approaching Kagome usually meant one of two things. It was either that he was going to try and ask her out, or that he was going to give her something for her ‘crippling health’. The later seemed to be what he was doing this time, her brown hues staring up at him as he spoke of the supplements. 

“Oh, I’m okay Hojo!” She replies, trying not to sound rude or ungrateful in her quick response to the boy. “But...taking a few wouldn’t hurt, since I do tend to get sick a lot. Thanks for looking out for me.”
