The grass never felt soothing against his skin until then, his bare arms flush against the lush body of the field. A cool summer’s breeze rolled over him like a wave in the ocean, smooth and constant. It had been surprisingly comfortable. He remained still, eyes fixated onto the sky above. Hoseok’s mouth had been running a mile a minute, words of constellations and scientific facts about shooting stars spewing. Passion is something that always stroke interest within Ian. If someone could talk about something for hours and hours, rather than falling agitated, he feels inspired. Enthralled by how wonderful the heart and mind can be when they work together to make someone so utterly invested in something.
But he felt stargazing is something that needs to be done in silence once in a while. Let everything slip away. Lose yourself in time and space and let the earth dissipate right from beneath you. It’s a bit hard to simply enjoy the stars and the presence of someone important beside you when they’re talking about how the sun is going to die out. And so he moved, lifted the top half of his body from the grass and hovered over the male beside him. Hoseok’s words begun to fade as Ian’s hand held itself against the other’s cheek, having no choice but to lock eyes with Ian.
“Stop talking for a little while, and just enjoy the view.” He cooed, a grin forming upon his lips. If the two of them hadn’t known any better, he would have imagined a kiss could have come before then–like in those cheesy romance movies that every idealistic being fawns over. But it didn’t, nor did it come after. The only thing that happened had been his hand pulling away from the warmth of Hoseok’s cheek and his body lying back down onto the grass as it had before.
