With these Salty Caramel Oat Bars, you can enjoy the delightful combination of sweet caramel and the savory touch of sea salt. Ideal for holiday gatherings or whenever you crave a tasty treat.
Ingredients: 1 cup old-fashioned oats. 1 cup all-purpose flour. 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted. 1/2 cup brown sugar. 1/4 teaspoon salt. 1/2 cup caramel sauce. 1 teaspoon sea salt flakes.
Instructions: Warm the oven up to 350F 175C and grease a square baking pan. Melt the butter and add the brown sugar, 1/4 teaspoon of salt, and oats to a bowl. Mix until it falls apart. About two-thirds of the mixture should be pressed into the bottom of the baking pan to make a crust. It should take about 15 minutes for the crust to get a light golden color around the edges after cooking in a hot oven. In a small bowl, mix the caramel sauce and sea salt flakes together while the crust is baking. When the crust is done, take it out of the oven and pour the caramel mixture over it in a straight line. Break up the rest of the oat mixture and sprinkle it on top of the caramel. Put the pan back in the oven and bake for another 20 to 25 minutes, or until the top is golden brown. Take it out of the oven and let it cool in the pan for a while before moving it to a wire rack to finish cooling. Cut it into bars when it's cool and enjoy!
