CEO!Luke was always busy but his busyness had only increased as the holiday season began. The two of you used to spend weekends in December shopping and marathoning Christmas movies together but none of that seemed to happen this year. Luke too busy managing his company and you to busy with your head in the toilet thanks to your horrendous morning sickness.
Though the two of you did make time for the holidays, sneaking out in the late afternoon hours to shop for one another before rushing to meet up at the Christmas tree lot to pick out the perfect tree. And even though it wasn’t like most years, you were okay with it especially because you knew you had the best gift of all to give Luke.
“Merry Christmas, Lu,” you said, pecking his lips before handing him his gift.
Luke smiled up at you before turning his attention to the rectangular box in his lap. Without hesitation, he ripped the paper off tossing it by his feet before prying the box open. You watched with eager eyes as your husband reached into the box pulling out the small “i love daddy” onesie. He held it in his hands for a moment, eyes scanning the words on it several times before they met yours, his usual crystal clear blue eyes now glossy thanks to the tears threatening to spill.
“I’m going to be a dad?” he asked, earning a nod from you.
Luke launched himself across the couch encompassing you in his arms, your head pressed tightly to his chest – his heart beating faster than it had on your wedding day, you reckon. The hug doesn’t last long though as Luke is lowering himself to your barely showing belly, pulling up your shirt so his hands can touch your warm flesh.
“Merry Christmas baby,” you smiled.
