Joey walked down the old stone steps that led to the ruins, the place so eerie and yet peaceful all at the same time. She sat on the wall, the chill of the November wind against her skin and let out a deep breath. Lost in her thoughts for a few moments, she jumped when she heard the sound of shoes crunching against the gravel. “Shit,” she let out a laugh, trying to hide she’d been nervous. Her hand quickly moving behind her back to hide the light that had appeared there. “Sorry, I was lost in my own thoughts.”
