     While Elliott was HOPING the other wouldn’t notice, he knew it’d be damn near impossible for anyone to see past his hundred yard stare, or ignore the anxious bounce to his leg, or overlook the EMPTINESS in his usually chipper voice.

          “I — it’s uh...” nothing...he trails, gaze floating past Octane as if he’s in search of words.

     His mind was in two completely separate places — more so than usual. But jump was in an hour, he either had to FOCUS UP or DROP OUT. Octavio was on his team; Elliott figured that’s probably why he looked him over with such concern just now...

                    — wading in silence probably wasn’t helping his case.

          “It was just my MOM...” he finally sputtered, a shake of his head clearing enough fog to allow the man to elaborate. “I mean — it wasn’t my mom, it was... ABOUT her...”

     He sits up straight after another moment, eyes finally focusing on Octane in an attempt to sell the forced grin now spreading across his face. “But don’t worry, I’m fine...SHE’S —...gonna be fine...everything’s fine.”

    It was surely a megawatt smile. One that beamed brighter than the sun itself. Full of unconditional love and happiness; a desire to cherish people and their companionship. It threatened to consume the entirety of Wattson's face with its size. Corners of her mouth pushed so far that it caused eyes to wrinkle and for dimples to be summoned in her cheeks. The engineer's glee and fondness could not be contained.     "I-- I can't believe you made this!" Natalie exclaimed as she looked to the Nessie-themed drink the bartender had made. Her eyes practically twinkled with excitement and adoration as she cooed over the beverage's design. "It's so cute! And cool! I don't even know what to say!" She could only hope her surprised and ecstatic grin could communicate what words couldn't.
