You and Holtzmann are expecting a baby (request)
You’d had a bit of trouble in the past with couples who claim “we’re pregnant”, because, realistically, it’s only one of the two who is actually physically carrying the child. But in your own relationship, with your wife constantly doting upon your every whim and skin in constant contact with your ever-growing bump, you were gaining new understandings into this concept.
Every opportunity she had, ever since the two of you found out that you had successfully conceived, even before a hint of baby-bump was evident, she had spent every waking moment cooing at your abdomen. Whenever you laughed and rolled your eyes, playfully swatting at her persistent touches, she insisted that your child had to "know Mommy’s voice - every one of them”, and proceeded to caress your stomach and babble nonsense in various accents.
Though generally an extremely touchy-feely kind of person, it was as if the bump was magnetic to her hands. Whilst you two were hanging out at home and watching a movie, cuddled up on the couch, her warm hands would adeptly slide under the hem of your shirt so cup your abdomen. Even in public, she would protectively, almost instinctively, move her hands to lightly touch your belly, laughing ad you pointed it out. It had become such a habit that she subconsciously was drawn to your bump whenever you two were around one another.
Though you, your doctor, numerous female relatives and strangers had assured Holtz that it was fine to sleep on your stomach (whilst it was comfortable) and to undertake various everyday tasks, she became extremely protective of you, shielding you from anything deemed to strenuous - including straining pasta - and made attempts to valiantly execute said tasks for you, all the while stealing affectionate touches of your baby bump that you can’t help but roll your eyes at.
Another task Holtzmann takes upon herself is finding the perfect cream, both safe for the baby and to perfectly moisturize your skin. Of course, she insists on applying these herself to your bump, as the multitude of prenatal books she has read have warned that the rapid stretching of skin can be painful for the mother. Whilst it is most certainly your best interest which Holtz is acting in, the excuse to run her fingers over the bump tugs secret smiles from her lips as the very sight of it brings forth images in her mind of your cute little family and it’s almost too much happiness for her to bear.
With her hands, or face constantly on your belly, Holtz feels the baby kick for the first time at the exact moment that you do and from then on, the sound of her voice almost always stirs the baby into movement. The amount of nicknames which she has for your child is a little bit ridiculous - most of them the names of round fruit or adorable animals - and the caring nature and gentle, ever-present touch of your amazing wife calms down any anxieties which you have about the birth or adding a member to your family.
(Author’s note: I don’t know shit about pregnancy, but the thought of this prompt - thank you very much, Asker! - made me want to know more. Went on for a little longer than initially intended, but I hope it satisfies. Feedback and more requests welcome, as always!)
