HOLYCIDE – Towards Idiocracy
Formé en 2004 par Dave Rotten (AVULSED) avec le désir de créer un groupe de Thrash Metal pour lequel il a rejoint Vicente J. Payá d'UNBOUNDED TERROR/GOLGOTHA aux guitares.
L'intention, dès le départ, était de créer un Thrash très agressif, exempt de touches commerciales et se concentrant sur le côté intense du style. Holycide ne prends vraiment acte qu’en 2012. Ainsi leur discographie débute par une demo en 2013 “No Escape”, l’E.P “Toxic Mutation” 2015 via Xtreem Music, nouvelle démo en 2016 “Prelude to Annihilation”, puis en 2017 le premier album “Annihilate… Then Ask!” via Xtreem Music, suivi par “Fist to Face” via Xtreem Music en 2020, l’E.P EN 2023 “Bazookiller” [EP].
Composé de Dave Rotten (AVULSED) au chant, Salva Esteban guitare, Ankor Ramírez guiatre, Vicente J. Payá (UNBOUNDED TERROR/GOLGOTHA) basse, Santi “GoG” Arroyo (AVULSED) batterie, le groupe a partagé la scène avec FLOTSAM AND JETSAM, ONSLAUGHT, D.R.I., HELSTAR, EXUMER, TRALLERY, ASOMVEL, NO RETURN, GOD DETHRONED, ALKOHOLIZER…Entre novembre 2023 et mars 2024, HOLYCIDE a travaillé sur la composition et l'enregistrement de « Towards Idiocracy » via Musique Xtreem dont la sortie est prévue le 6.6 à 18h (journée internationale de Slayer !).
Cet album est considéré par le groupe comme leur « Reign Blood », saturant l’espace Thrashy d’un octane très intensif dans la veine sonique de Dark Angel, Morbid Saint, Atrophy, D.R.I., Infernäl Mäjesty, Exodus, Sepultura (Beneath/Arise), Vio-Lence…
Les obsessions licencieuses dopées au riff épique et sauvage se confondent pour hanter dans des extases maudites. L'obscurité sacrée déploie ses ailes d'aigle, son océan âpre et brutal tout au long d’un album chargé de hargne thrash.
