Overall, a good album that ticks boxes, but has enough fresh ideas to encourage new listeners to give it a shot.
Mother Vulture have found deep creative levels on this album and the result is something that can simply be summed up as great. Fun, interesting, and exciting right to the end. This one will be getting a ton of listens throughout the year.
The Toxic Avenger is a blast from beginning to end. An over the top, silly, funny, gorefest that pays loving tribute to the original film, the series as a whole, and the universe that Troma created.
Is this Blanket at their most exposed and raw? It sure feels like it, but it also comes with effervescent dreaminess, deep melodies, vivid atmosphere, and a ton of polish.
Album Review: HyperioN - Cybergenesis (Fighter Records)
Traditional heavy metal and classic sci-fi storytelling collide as Italian metallers HyperioN return with their third full-length album, Cybergenesis, set for release on the 15th January via Fighter Records. Formed in 2015 in Bologna, Italy, HyperioN were founded by drummer Jason Beghelli and guitarist Davide Cotti to play traditional heavy metal inspired by Metal Church, early Queensrÿche, and…
Cracked, by The Helmers, is an amusing, creative horror western short film that takes the simple nutcracker, gives it a scary face, and makes it a tool for predicting fortunes.
To move forward, we first must go back. Dutch Marich's Horror in the High Desert found footage horror film series continues with Horror in the High Desert 4: Majesty.
Today’s single slam features HANABIE., Lord of the Lost, Sweet Pill, The Hirsch Effekt, Sick Joy, Matador, Shields, Tailgunner, New Miserable Experience, Uncultivates, TX2, Distant, Necrosexual, and Sylosis.
Delivery Driver Massacre low-poly visuals and 80s slasher inspired horror aspects are appealing, but it delivers gameplay so fundamentally flawed that a lot of the positives are undone.
Scratch One Grub emerge from the valleys with their debut album 'One', arriving 27 February. Blending progressive ambition, alt-metal grit, and raw emotion, the Welsh six-piece stake their claim as one of the UK’s most exciting new heavy acts. In this interview we talk gaming with rhythm guitarist, Alex.
There are some notably bland tracks that reflect a lack of inspiration, but happily, there are plenty that slay too. If you’re a big fan of the band, then you may come away more pleased with the record then I did.
The Conjuring: Last Rites is a boring, bloated, lacklustre horror film that, I think, takes its audience for granted.
After releasing 'Desolation' in October last year, the Dutch/Slovakian downtempo/deathcore band DISTANT have dropped their new single, 'Nothing Left To Hate'.
There’s no doubting Uuhai’s authenticity, but thanks to this album, there’s also no doubting their ability to create compelling rock music.
There’s something quite obscene about this album and not just because the combination of black, death and thrash-infused noise is ugly and harsh to the ears.
I’m not alone in thinking that Bring Her Back is special, I’m just joining a chorus of voices. See this film, and be prepared to be left thinking about it for a long time afterwards.
