It's for the benefit of your own souls as well as your children's souls. Our goals as parents, marriages, and Catholics in general is to help each other get to Heaven! How zealous are we about doing so? Is the flame dim, just barely lit, or are we truly trying to fan the flame for it to grow with each passing day? — St. Paul tells us, "Today is the day of salvation!' 2 Corinthians 6:2. Today is the day that you say ENOUGH IS ENOUGH, you tell Satan and all of his demons to flee your home, your lives, and your souls because you were purchased at a price and you will not trade the sun for a measly candle. It is time proclaim CHRISTUS REX, CHRIST IS KING of your life, your spouse, your family. IT 👏🏽 STARTS 👏🏽 AT 👏🏽 HOME 👏🏽 — Recognize, families, that you are your children's first and most important catechists and teachers of the Faith. You've heard it said, children are like sponges 🧽 and they soak in all that they hear and see. So, if they see and hear you cussing, yelling, and fighting, guess what they're gonna grow up to do? But if they see you praying persistently, speaking, and acting with charity, reading Scripture, going to Mass, etc, guess what they're gonna most likely do? — Most especially you, fathers and heads of your households, YOU are the ultimate catechist and teacher. Studies and statistics all say that if the father isn't present in the children's lives, and if he is but doesn't go to church, the children will have a great difficulty practicing the Faith nor become virtuous adults. They will grow up troubled and with relationship problems of all kinds. — That is why we started this page, to help couples and families recognize the importance of prayer in the home. We ourselves grew up in homes where God was almost inexistent, most especially prayer and Mass attendance. — So, father and mother, PRAY 👏🏽 AT 👏🏽 HOME 👏🏽. Make it a priority to start praying as a couple AND as a family. We schedule 📆 everything in our lives, what time ⏰ we wake up, what time we head out the door, our lunch time, our time to head home... our life is full of schedules, times set aside to fulfill a task, but when was the last time you penciled in prayer 🙏🏽 time with your spouse??? — This is the greatest of all tasks to fulfill! Our whole vocation in marriage 👩‍❤️‍👨 calls us to praise God with our whole being, the moment our marriage is consecrated to God, it does not end! We must renew this consecration regularly through our prayers. — I know it's what we don't wanna hear, especially with children, but let us not be fixated on a "Date Night" 🕯️🍽️🕯️ if we haven't figured out a prayer time. Unless your date includes Mass or Adoration, it won't be satisfying. — NOTHING can fix all the struggles in a marriage like praying together.
