books deal.
Solly tagged me into this post exercise thing:
"In a text post, list ten books that have stayed with you in some way. Don’t take but a few minutes, and don’t think too hard — they don’t have to be the “right” or “great” works, just the ones that have touched you."
So, at the top of my head:
1. El amor en los tiempos del cólera, Gabriel García Márquez.
2. Libertad, Jonathan Franzen.
3. Diario de invierno, Paul Auster.
4. Tokio Blues, H. Murakami.
5. Harry Potter and the Chamber of secrets, J.K. Rowling.
6. The arabs: a history, Eugene Rogan.
7. Noticia de un Secuestro, Gabriel García Márquez.
8. La maravillosa vida breve de Óscar Wao, Junot Díaz.
9. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, J.K. Rowling.
10. Meira del Mar, Ediciones Uninorte.
i'm suppose to tag someone so...er...Stephanie and Charlie.
just thought I better exclude the UK from the "European kids learn other languages bit". our education system is just as embarrassingly monolingual as the US's
That's interesting to know. I know several English people who are fluent in second languages but I suspect that's because they had money and access to better schools maybe?
I don't really understand anything about online currency and I'm guessing this is probably a v stupid question, but did you just get bought some dogecoin then wait for it to accumulate value? can it ever be turned back into dollars?
my friend mined it and gave it to me. i have no idea how to transfer it back i think it's more likely that i'd have to exchange it for a thing worth vaguely close to the amount
Can always trust Charlie to be up at odd times to like your posts
