I'm sorry to hear that, and think you’re entirely justified :(  It's definitely been an unwanted surprise on my end, so I can imagine how much Al’s hardcore fans must be disappointed.

If there's any 'good' news in all this, it's that I think these are just fill-in issues and the writer won't be on the book for long, so it'd be easy for a future writer to politely ignore this story arc.  What does worry me is that a future writer may not care enough to ignore it, and might base future Al stories on this anyway.  But hopefully we'll get another old-school nerd on the book who knows their Rogues and wants to take their cues from pre-Flashpoint canon rather than this.
