                              “Ne, Inojin kun, wake up. We have to finish up this mission.” shaking the boy’s shoulder, Noriko grumbled at his response. “Come on, don’t say that.”

                      Inojin looked so downcast, so dejected she was almost shocked when she saw him standing on her doorstep. Usually the blond boy was bright spirited, a bit bratty at times, but he would always have a peaceful air about him. 

                     “E-eh? What’s wrong Inojin kun?” Leaning down, Noriko looked at him her eyes filling with worry. “A hug?” tilting her head to the side, the albino woman thought that it wouldn’t hurt to give him a small hug. “Aa...okay.” Wrapping her arms around him, Noriko gave the Yamanaka a small hug.

                                “Aa-aaa.” Cyan eyes widened with both panic and fear as she stared back at the little boy before her.

                                “I-Inojin kun, aa-haha, d-don’t worry, I’ll—I’ll  be fine.” Lifting up her battered body, the Ayaka tried to put on a reassuring smile, however her eyes were still full of fear. Reaching out a hand that was covered in wounds, Noriko resisted the urge to scream as pain shot through her from in the bloody stumps that once were her legs.  

                                   She didn’t want him to see like this, she didn’t want him to face the same hell she had to go through. No, she wouldn’t allow that. She wouldn’t allow the future to be soiled by the past.
