((I CAN’T DO A MILLION BUT I WILL DO THREE BECAUSE FUCK THE SYSTEM Angstunderthecut,yo))
A golden globe spun wildly in a room on it’s own. Every now and then sounds and images would flash from it, playing out the memories of a certain man.
The First Raven
"Come here, boy!" Tobias snarled, grabbing Severus by his hair and tugging him out of the Palace.
"Let go of me!” the eight-year old boy screamed, kicking his eyes welling with tears.
Tobias slowly stopped walking, inspecting the cigarette in his mouth before looking down at his son.
"Shut. The fuck. Up." he growled, holding the burning tobacco close enough to his face for the child to wince as ash fell into his face.
"Listen here. You are going to be the Prince. Serving under me of course. Nevertheless you need to be familiar with the enemy we’ve allied with. Now. Come along."
The tugging commenced once again and this time to boy resigned himself to trying to match the harried footsteps of his father.
They seemed to walk for hours and tears were streaming down the boy’s face when they finally arrived at the destination.
"Look."
Severus blinked.
"You dragged me all the way out here to show me… A pond."
Tobias smirked.
"Patience."
Severus rolled his eyes just as the water’s surface rolled.
There was peace for a moment before the pond churned and rumbled. Then a decaying hand reached out towards him, followed by the head of something indescribably awful. It was red. No crimson. With burning yellow eyes and a mouth full of jagged teeth and forked tongues. Yes tongues. As in more than one.
But the worst part was the moaning… The sounds the thing made as it crawled towards him. The spell of fear was broken as he turned towards his father, terrified.
"What the fuck is that?”
"That. Was a merperson." Tobias chuckled.
The boy appeared to be seventeen in this memory and was once again thrown, however this time it was to the floor of a dungeon and his wrists were bound in pure golden chains.
"You’ve defied me for the last time!" Tobias roared.
"Since you wish to act a man, you’ll be punished as one… Bellatrix."
The wild hair and grey eyes of his father’s newest recruit and probably lover appeared in Severus’ vision.
"Thirty lashes."
"Isn’t this your son, Your Majesty?"
"Thirty lashes." the black-eyed man repeated leaning against the wall.
He heard jingling and rustling behind him as he growled and struggled against the metal. Suddenly he felt a force move his hands dragging him against the solitary pole in the room.
"Sorry dear." he heard in his ear before his back exploded into agonising pain so sharp he saw lights. The same thing happened twenty-nine more times and by the time Bellatrix had reached thirty strikes he was screaming for his father to show mercy.
There was none as golden blood split onto the ground by lash number twenty and Tobias watched in silence, his eyebrows raised in interest at the colour.
"You’re sleeping here tonight." he drawled as his son collapsed into the small puddle of his own blood.
The Third Raven
This memory was deeply buried in Hook’s subconscious because he couldn’t even remember it.
Large black eyes blinked in surprise as he made his way deep into the dungeons.
"Father?" he called hesitantly, ignoring the moans and pleas of the prisoners around him.
He tilted his head… There was a cage… Made of Dust. Well that’s what it seemed like anyway. He wandered towards it, forgetting his search for his father.
He couldn’t have been older than three or four judging by his height in the memory.
There was a pretty woman sleeping in the cage and her aura felt… Familiar.
"Hi." he said, pressing his face against the bars not sure why he wanted to talk to her.
Her eyes fluttered open and the woman began to cry.
He frowned deeply. Was this his fault? He started to cry too.
Tobias came storming down the stairs, stopping when he saw the crying pair, his eyes narrowing.
The poor child would never know that the crying Angel was his mother. He’d make sure of it.
While the Pirate Prince has a very deep speaking voice as a boy he tended to sing more often, eventually he stopped singing and while his speaking voice fully developed his singing voice is quite high.
