Morrigan lived with her father in a faraway Kingdom. She was headstrong and stubborn tomboy, who loved spending more time with him her horse and hound than her teachers or servants. She was however very polite to her servants in the castle and considered many of them were her friends. One evening, the King, her father, called her into his quarters. It wasn't often that she was summoned to her father so she joined him presently and she was curious. Her father bid her sit and she sat next to his desk. "Yes, Father..."
"Morrigan, my darling, I have news. As your father, I must do what's best for you, So I have found you a husband. He is a knight from the neighboring kingdom of Astoria and you are to join him as soon as possible. I have had your chambermaids being packing for you. "
Morrigan's eyes went wide and looked to her hand. She had myriad of emotions running through her. " Father, You know I love and respect you...but...I can't do this. I can't marry someone I do not love. "
The King's face turned stern and cold at her word. "You foolish, headstrong girl. You act as though you have a choice. you will marry him and will be happy about it. Now out of my sight, you leave tonight."
Morrigan ran from the room and to her own. It was there she found all her belongings gone. her heart broke as she sunk to the floor by her bed. it was then her servants returned to accompany her to the carriage to take her away. Tears stained her face as she entered the carriage. the only comfort was that her horse, Toriega and her hound, Bear, were accompanying her.
The next morning they arrived in the courtyard of the castle. She stepped from the carriage and looked around. She was in her riding clothes with her long dark hair, with small braids scattered through it, fell loose around her shoulders. Her heart was heavy and she sighed, keeping a non-committal smile. it was then her eyes found him. His dark tousled hair and light sea colored eyes drew her in a moment before she looked away before listening to instruction from one of her guards. She chanced another glance at the stranger but he was gone. Where had he gone? Who was he?
