… Is the most misquoted line in film history and unlike the fabulous Gloria Swanson, we are hopefully at the beginning of our career, not the end here at Hooof so, we thought it timely to shoot some promo video clips.
With a fab crew and some fantastic locations organised we hot-footed it over to Hackney via The City on what turned out to be a perfect summer’s day.
On camera we had the amazing Joseph Martin Kelly and in front of the lens (in alphabetical order, of course) we had the talented: Alexander Huestson, Andrew Avery, Joshua Glenister, Lewis Lilly, Lidia Piechowiak, Michael Ajih, Nina Atesh, Peter McPhearson, Sammy L Attalah, Tomasz Aleksander and Ziggy Luz…
Which reminds me, where is my Scrabble board? I digress, without these lovely, talented professionals there’s no way we could have even tried to commit the benefits of Hooof to film.
Our first location was Anytime Fitness, St Pauls. Thanks to their wonderful manager, Scarlett Phillips and her friendly colleagues we were able to film some great footage. Tucked away in the atmospheric nay historic and winding lanes between St Pauls and Blackfriars we had found the the perfect location for city workers to meet new friends for a spontaneous gym session.
Next up was London Fields to shoot some outdoor activities. I’m a West Londoner so Hackney feels like half way to Holland for me but I love discovering new areas of the capital and I wasn’t disappointed. London Field’s facilities are great, there’s even a lovely open-air swimming Lido with café attached. After a cups of tea all round we got down to shooting some Tennis, Yoga and Jogging scenarios. I’m happy to be report there were no injuries during filming apart from some light bruising due to some over-enthusiastic tennis serves.
We were actually rather relieved to be out of the fierce East London sun for our next location. The rather gorgeous Silver Lining Restaurant located on 13 Morning Lane. They’ve created a little gem of an eaterie here. The menu, which consists of lots of small plates is quite delicious and innovative in a way which reminds me of Australia’s culinary best. The wine is top notch and not expensive too. We know because we had to have a couple of glasses for shooting props. Honest!
The next location was Silver Cloud’s sister establishment Every Cloud which was right next door. When I’m next in Hackney on more leisurely pursuits I really need look no further for a snazzy tipple and a great evening out. Except maybe…
…if I’m in a more informal beer at a picnic table sort of mood. Our final location being the Deviant & Dandy Craft Brewery at Arch 185 off Nursery Road, Hackney.
I’m no beer aficionado but even I can tell a good beer when I drink one. With the brewery on site Head Deviant, Byron Knight and his crew clearly love sharing what they do, their quality range of Dandy style pale ales, brown bitters and lagers or Deviant styles like IPA, heritage rice APA, and new world sours are an excellent reason to return to this Hackney beer garden this summer.
Needless to say we wrapped the shoot a-s-a-p and enjoyed a lovely drink or two with our new Hooof friends to finish up the day. Do look out for the vids coming soon on social media and thank you again to everyone who made our shoot go so smoothly!
