Hooper (1978) is such a great movie because it’s like 70% comedy 10% domestic drama 20% of some of the best mediation on legacy and aging I’ve ever seen 40% stupid car bullshit 8% of the main character biting people 32% of him drinking heavily 100% deep underlying dread and the knowledge that Nothing is forever and you Will Die and 16% Burt Reynolds in the cutest pair of jeans you’ve ever seen
