1. Singing Snake Eater at karaoke unironically
2. Giving me a little Buneary collection of cards
3. Introducing me to so many American restaurants and food items. Such as pizookies at BJ's
4. Turning me into a bigass pokemon nerd who is now infecting my medical student friends with pokemonitis
5. Ungodly food combinations that hurt my sensitive Indian palette (affectionate)

American Woman by Lenny Kravitz is one I've heard AND one I think is an absolute fuckin bop
Psst, Drampa are Moon/Ultra Moon exclusive and you can only find them on Mt. Lanakila. Happy Grandpa hunting!
So wait, is it one of those Pokemon that I can't find until I'm basically on the Elite 4's doorstep? Guess I'm not using it then
Thank you tho, I appreciate it!
cheren
Literally he's given me brainrot for like the last year lmao
I feel like he's properly utilized as a character in the games (don't ask me about the other material) I only call him wasted potential bc I personally wish his development wasn't so heavy in the latter half of BW compared to the beginning where he's honestly kinda a jerk. And as a result I chalked him up to another run of the mill asshole rival until I played the sequel.
That being said, you really have to read into the dialogue but it is Evident he's wisened up in the time between BW and BW2. It's always felt so fitting to me that a character who started off so strongly wanting to be the Champion and wanting to show off their strength to the world ends up settling nicely as a gym leader (and one who 90% of the time is handing out the first badge to his challengers). He's still in a position to be strong, but it's different because NOW he also needs to set an example for all these young kids whose shoes he's no doubt been in before and be the figure that encourages them, like Alder was to him. The old cheren would never have had the insight and patience for that. And unlike most gym leaders he continues to help the player in BW2 at later points in the story. I don't have direct quotes, but personally I loved the post game sequence where you're helping him look for Team Plasma and the memory link because he reflects so much on how he's changed with the guidance of people around him.
He's good on his own but I ESPECIALLY love his dynamic with the protag. Hilda (who I personally see as the protag over hilbert) has had Such a profound effect on him over the course of the first game and I feel like it's implied he's constantly missed her over the last two years. Having to figure out who he is without being able to compare himself to hilda was probably one of the things that really fueled his character development. He's always loved her, she's one of his oldest friends after all. She cares about him too, as much as she likes to tease him. They're rivals who bring out the best in each other and get on each other's nerves and best friends and there's (imo) all the foundations for them to reconnect and fall in love whenever Hilda comes back.
