"... Is this what you call handling it?" Columbina's voice does not waver despite Anaxa's sharpness. She is used to it - too used to it, attitudes like this. That stubborn, irritating attitude where worry and care are seen as an insult.
Should this have happened long ago, Columbina would have turned around and left. She doesn't have the energy to give up to those who reject her care, and yet - she remains in place. "You need to rest, even for a bit. Nothing will change nor end if you take a moment to breathe."
Will these words fall on deaf ears? She's not sure. If it were anyone else, they would likely take it into consideration - but Anaxa is not 'anyone else'. Columbina hates to be so serious, but even doves will scratch and claw when provoked.
