Brew #192: Hope Handsome Jack IPA

ABV: 6.6%

Served: From the fridge

Aroma: Pine, watermelon

Pour: Opaque dark amber with a finger of white froth

Taste: Nice pine kick upfront with a good dry bite but not much else going on here. Bit disappointing flavourwise, there’s no real fruitiness or secondary notes as promised on the nose. Decent but unexciting.

Notes: 330ml bottle, malt - Pils/Pale/Cara Pils/Crystal/Acidulated, hops- Athanum/Citra/Cascade/Sorachi, yeast - American Ale

Brew #190: Hope Saison Beer “Grunt”

ABV: 4.8%

Served: From the fridge

Aroma: Herbs, lemon, bread, floral notes

Pour: Cloudy yellow with frothy white head

Taste: All those spice and herbs are up front leading into a lemon citrus wash and a lovely dry bite. Hint of saltiness in there too amongst all the floral notes. A really really nice, well balanced beer.

Notes: 330ml bottle, malt - Pils/Wheat/Melanoidan/Acidulated, hops - Cascade/Sorachi Ace, spices - Juniper/Lemongrass/Bergamot.
