as concerned as tidus was, he instantly snorted ( in an abrupt, unflattering way ) at hope’s rhetorical phrasing. as far as he was concerned, pride certainly was a bone and he himself had endured a break in it countless times. but for this instance, hope didn’t have to be even the slightest bit ashamed.

“no prob, man,” tidus assured, giving him a good-natured clap on the back; one that was possibly a little too forceful, given hope’s near-accident. tidus’s enthusiasm seeped into his every mannerism. there was no helping it.

“for what it’s worth, you’re quick to recover. that’s pretty useful,” he commented, impressed with the other boy’s ability to bounce back. “so how’d you get yourself in such a pickle anyway?”

IT’S JUST A JOKE, spoken in his usual lighthearted manner of speech, but that doesn’t  n e g a t e  the truth behind his remark. Too many times now has he stumbled upon Hope in a similar state ----- either one  y a w n  away from face-planting right where he sits, or too hopped up on caffeine to even care. Snow is no stranger to  d e d i c a t i o n  to a cause, but as someone who lives by the mantra of ‘ work hard, play harder ’, he just can’t seem to  j u s t i f y  Hope’s choices. A hand comes down on the other man’s shoulder, rattling his smaller frame, despite the brotherly  c o n c e r n  behind the gesture. 

                                “ Guess that would only work if you decide to sleep for a change, ” he continues. “ When’s the last time you took a day off, huh? ”

               The young witch wrapped her arms across her chest, in an attempt to get warm. Arms and legs bare to the cold winds of this winter, she wished she could have found something to wear over her dress. But alas, she didn’t think to take care of herself when she could help others instead. A movement to the side of her caught her attention, indigo blue looking up to see that a jacket was held out to her, the arm attaching to a boy. She didn’t know what he wanted, but she took the jacket gently and slowly, unsure and in case he wanted it back to protect himself from the cold. “Thank you. But you need it yourself don’t you?”

                fingers idly occupied with stiff strands of hair , prompto shifts his weight . it’s fair to say that he isn’t good at subtlety, especially in the midst of ( brief , but no less painful ) awkward silence . most often , it proves best that he keep his mouth shut but inevitably it’s BOREDOM that has him quick to speak .  ❝ hey , y’know , once i tried out the boomerang concept with a chicken wing . sure enough , not the same thing . weird , the smaller things we regret , huh ?  ❞
