What do you think? Is your fertility center open? Should it be? 💔😷😔 #Repost @fabfertility • • • • • • Dear ASRM, We understand that your guidelines are intended to keep everyone safe and guard against the unknown. We truly appreciate and understand that. We also understand that #infertility is a disease. Fertility treatments are not elective. We did not choose to have problems growing our family. Let’s stop categorizing infertility treatments as “elective” and therefore prevent us from undergoing them- it is far from it. We ask you to understand the reality that not all of us have time to wait. Some of us have other health conditions, diminished ovarian reserve and a whole host of other issues. We understand continuing treatment now could be risky. But that’s OUR risk. People are able to continue trying on their own and able to continue getting pregnant and having babies- why are we any different? Our #infertilitycommunity is anxious already. We save up and then spend SO MUCH financial, emotional and physical capital preparing for these treatments and that was taken away from so many of us. Money we worked so hard to save, tears we cried because of hormones and the emotional toll and the physical hit we have taken our our bodies for cancelled cycles, all wasted. This has made us more anxious that we ever could have imagined. We are heartbroken. We ask you WHY? Why, when many clinics cannot serve those with the coronavirus, can they not continue treatment? Fertility clinics ARE an essential business. They are essential to #1in8 creating life. To all of our doctors out there advocating for their practices and us patients, thank you. From the bottom of our heart, thank you 🙏🏼 So, ASRM, please, consider all of these things when revising your recommended COVID-19 guidelines. You can take away our cycles and treatment but #hopeisntcancelled Love, An Infertile Girl in a Crazy World #fertilityjourney #surrogacy #IVFtreatment #infertility #covid #coronavirus #ivf https://www.instagram.com/p/B-vZd7uly3Z/?igshid=1p7lqf54k7wt9
