I can't sit and demand Disney to resurrect Maximum Horsepower or to make something with Horace Horsecollar as a lead. All I can do is make the Horace Horsecollar stories I want to see. That's what Interstellar Detectives, HoraceLand, and The Roads of Empyrean mean to me.

I've been seeing your art pop up alot latley and got really intrested with your story about horace it looks so cool! I wanna ask if its gonna be a public domain based project or something else? and what exactly is it gonna be? a comic? a written story? something else :0? whatever it is I wish you the best of luck with it <3

Thank you and in actuality there’s three Horace stories that may have overlapped by accident

Interstellar Detectives has been the main one, it was planned as a webcomic (with so many failed starts and story changes). But has been officially retooled into a fanfic (with illustrations). Essentially it’s loosely inspired by Maximum Horsepower (the scrapped Disney Afternoon show Horace almost got) but sets itself five years later where Horace and Clarabelle try to maintain a normal life but visions, a series of unfortunate events and an old friend bring them (and taking Oswald and Ortensia) back into space to stop a barrage of new enemies and a tear in the galaxy.

HoraceLand (yes I named it after that line from House of Mouse) is more of a series of illustrations with a story. It’s multiverse story centered around Horace and all of his iterations (including some original ones) both interacting with each other and fixing the multiverse before it crumbles completely.

Roads of Empyrean (working title) is the public domain based project, but due to the state of the publishing industry I am seeking to take the self publishing route. Basically the plot involves a simple farm horse named Horace wakes up in a place out of time and space called the Empyrean. Learning that his world was destroyed by an evil entity, he decides to go on a quest to stop the entity and try repair his own world.

Starting off my Horace Horsecollar multiverse project is The Three Musketeers, a movie Horace wasn’t in but I decided to give him a design and story. Why? Because I can. The idea I had was that he was a former assistant to Pete, who kinda went off the rails and supposedly died. Only to have many say they’ve seen him around but could never prove he was there.

Horace’s design was based off the design of The Beagle Boys, the tears and nicks on his clothes are meant to show how long he had worked for Pete.

I created and designed this Horace as to make an outlandish explanation as to why he wasn’t in the movie. The idea I had is that Horace would have appeared in the third act (after Donald and Goofy save Mickey); at first being assumed to have been sent by Pete to take the fight out of the three, but turns out he’s there to help them get to the theater. Once in the theater he acts as something of a ghost to taunt Pete. Other ideas yet to be explored include that working with Pete did cause some psychological problems and him meeting (and presumably falling in love with) Clarabelle’s twin sister (who’s just as equally awesome as her sister.)

Well here's the next Horace design. As was voted on Twitter, Darkwarrior timeline Horace. When the law and his friends turned their backs on him, he turned his back on the entire world.

The idea had originally stemmed from a what-if scenario: What if it took just one event for Horace to just suddenly become a "villain"? and from a Darkwarrior Duck AU that was created by @shadowtoons-arinanon .

With this design, I played around with the idea of the scars being from his near death fight with Darkwarrior Duck. Other design choices included the switch from the traditional white gloves to solid black gloves in order to coincide with idea he switches gloves to keep up the normal civilian side surprisingly convincing everyone that his scars and eye were the result of a repair gone wrong.

Since The Phantom Blot (going under the civilian name, Basil Blankenspot) in this verse is part eldritch horror. It would be possible some of that eldritch curse would plague Horace. Almost like a virus...

I can hear all the "Ow! The edge!!" jokes and comments a mile away.

I had been dying to draw this one, the idea of what a real undead toon would most likely look like. The idea of Horace learning the brain shattering truth of his existence rots in my brain rent free. Alt text for additional notes.

This version of Horace was loosely inspired by Sinister Strange from Doctor Strange and the Multiverse Of Madness and the idea of what a zombie toon would look like. I also loved writing the idea that he's aware he's only a drawing meant entertain the unknown. He comes off as an actual villain though it's all the result of not being able to recover from loss.
