BIO
Lillian is actually a goddess who rules over chance and probability. She hated her position and all the restrictions that came with being a deity, so she fled the pantheon. Her escape led her to hide in another time and another place: Mouseton.
She has an endless fascination with mortal beings, their creations, their short lifespans, and what they choose to do with the little they have. As an extension of this curiosity, she takes great pleasure in creating and exacerbating chaos and conflict among these ephemeral creatures.
The clash between law enforcement and criminals — in which some criminals are bolder than others — seems like an entertaining movie to her, and she regards it as a special pastime. Although she fails to consider the fear and harm inflicted on the townspeople in a broader context, Lillian harbors neither cruelty nor malice in her intentions. She does not favor crime any more than she favors justice.
Some learn by reading, others by listening. Lillian does so through experimentation and observation, and a little “Mayhem” is her preferred method. Even with the vast gulf between their perspectives, she strives to understand the nature of earthly creatures.
In a way, she is somewhat envious of them. So much so that she rejected her divine name to embrace a simple earthly alias.
RELATIONSHIPS
Phantom Blot
Phantom Blot was the first person Lillian met when she arrived in Mouseton.
Before actually meeting him in person, she had observed him from a distance and concluded that he was the most interesting human in the area. She could see his obsession with power, wealth, upholding his reputation as a feared mastermind, and the plans he meticulously devised to obtain all of the above - which, to her, seemed all too silly and pointless.
She appeared before him, bathed in a golden glow, floating in the air, still wearing the dazzling robes of a pantheon member, and expressed her desire to accompany him from that point onwards.
It wasn’t the tactical advantage Phantom Blot had hoped for in his schemes.
Lillian wasn’t seeking to ally herself with him, but to have him as her tour guide. Whether he liked it or not, there wasn’t much room to say no. The goddess of chance simply controlled the outcome of everything with her mood and state of mind, even without meaning to. Making her pout in annoyance didn’t bode well for him, so Blot found himself forced to put up with her presence and her antics.
Attempts at manipulation, blackmail, threats, or any means of gaining undue advantage from her powers were useless against Ms. Mayhem. And even when she did grant Phantom Blot a favor, a tiny fraction of what she was capable of, in the end, no real change in his fortunes had taken place.
The change lay in their outlook on life. Lillian’s simple, playful, yet sharp way of thinking, immune to falsehood and deceit, eventually led Phantom Blot to be more honest around her – towards her and towards himself. She, in turn, came to understand human behavior ever more clearly, using Blot as her major point of reference.
Over time, a sense of attachment developed between them that Phantom Blot would never admit to, and that Lillian would never need to voice. The mere idea of a permanent separation between them was enough to expose the bond. Although still a long way off from Blot’s standpoint, for Lillian, it is just a blink of an eye. She tries not to think about it.
Mickey Mouse
Mickey has many fans throughout Mouseton, even beyond the city limits, in rural areas and distant places, further than one can imagine. Lillian is not one of them.
What attracts her to Phantom Blot is precisely the same thing she dislikes about Mickey. Blot causes trouble in the town. His elaborate schemes, his contraptions, the mobilization of entire police fleets… he makes things interesting! Like a child poking an anthill with a stick, Phantom Blot creates scenarios in which Lillian can observe and study reactions, feelings, choices – all in practice. What’s important? What’s forgettable? Why do they do this, and not that? Mickey arrives, springs into action, and the commotion ends. He’s a real killjoy.
Aside from a simple love of the game, and beyond wanting to provoke incidents for study, the mouse is also the reason why she deliberately interferes with criminals’ luck and probabilities. And also for the few times she does so in such an unfair way that it can be described, without ambiguity, as pure cheating. Mickey seems to be favored by forces not even Lillian understands, so from her point of view, she is merely ‘leveling the playing field’.
Lillian Mayhem doesn’t actually hate Mickey; she’s just frustrated by his competence. When she meets him in person, she is mischievous and cordial, even if she comes across as a little sassy. A sassiness stemming from a sort of spite that Mickey has no idea where it comes from.
He has faced all manner of enemies and fantastical beings, but Lillian doesn’t seem to have any comprehensible logic behind her actions. Though Mickey is cautious when dealing with her, he is always taken by surprise. Her unpredictable actions and the uncertainty over where she’ll interfere this time – and whether she’ll interfere at all – make his job much harder and more challenging. Ironically, Mickey learns just as effectively as she does. His competence and skills as a detective improve with each new encounter.
Minnie Mouse
Whilst Mickey is the source of Lillian’s deepest frustration, Minnie Mouse stirs a different emotion in her. One at the opposite end of the spectrum of human study and inquiry. Minnie sparks extreme curiosity and self-reflection in Lillian.
She knows that Minnie Mouse is Mickey’s “girlfriend,” and, at times, his “fiancée” (Lillian doesn’t understand why this is so, but concludes that this is simply how things work among mortals). Where the goddess came from, these words either had different weights and meanings, or were completely foreign to her.
Minnie is, therefore, Lillian Mayhem’s point of reference for romantic relationships among humans. She observes Minnie only when she meets with her detective boyfriend, but never manages to study her for very long before leaving.
The dynamic between Minnie and Mickey, with the latter always getting involved in risky and dangerous jobs, was rooted in deep trust, affection, and companionship. It was mutual and lighthearted; moments spent together were treated as a precious treasure, no matter how mundane they might be.
There were no political issues, no power struggles, no arranged marriages. Humans seemed to choose who to be with, purely and simply, because they felt happy with that person. Because they made each other happy.
And that, besides being bizarre in Lillian’s eyes, accustomed as she was to a different reality, was a bit too much. There was a strange heaviness there, so powerful that it made her throat tighten and her eyes burn with tears. Mayhem didn’t understand — she never did —but she always took that as her cue to slip away. And since she could never draw any conclusions from the experience, she’d return to observing after a while. Rinse and repeat.
Sometimes, Mayhem tried to apply the little she’d gleaned from the experiment to her own situation. With whom else was she this happy? Was there anyone like that?
Her mind, always clouded by memories of the traditions she’d fled and occupied with the fun games she “promoted” in Mouseton, never stopped to think too deeply about the matter. Not that it was necessary. There was a "someone", and that someone was secretly grateful for her distraction.
Goofy
There isn’t much to say here. Lillian identifies with Goofy’s silly nature and finds him great fun.
Always in Mickey’s company, he may well get in the way of some devious schemes, but ultimately, he’s nothing more than a silly little guy with a soft heart.
Goofy represents the purest and kindest qualities among all the people Lillian has ever met on Earth, and this sometimes baffles her. His heart of gold stands out even when compared to other gods, deities and spiritual beings. He is a fascinating subject of study.
Lillian does not usually interact with Goofy in person, preferring to observe him from a distance. He is such an outlier that, in her view, she might skew the results by intruding on his presence and imposing her own bias. She treats him with wonder, almost as if he were a kind of endangered species.
On the few occasions when Goofy was able to see Lillian in person, alongside Mickey Mouse, he found it amusing how that floating young woman addressed him and behaved in his presence. A nervous, starstruck reverence. He "didn’t realize" he was "quite that famous".
Her Family
Lillian Mayhem didn’t run away for no reason.
Unfortunately, her stay in that town and that historical period was temporary, and Lillian knew it. The adorable bell tied around her neck with a ribbon was a constant reminder that she couldn’t escape her fate forever.
That’s not to say she wouldn’t try.

Remember when people would pin detectives against Dexter. After watching a good amount of Dexter vs detective videos I have come to realization that comic Mickey has a high likely hood chance of arresting Dexter.
And here's the thing it isn't just because he a character used for comedy, Mickey is weirdly able to counter most of Dexter usually tricks to try to get rid of detectives- there's the obvious fact Dexter would underestimate the cute tiny friendly mouse person.
But even if Dexter try to frame Mickey, Mickey would just break out of jail as he done several times in the comics when he does get framed to the the shock of Dexter.
Try to kill him by tieing him to a kill table after hitting him with that syringe? Bad news Mickey has escaped death traps before while in a drugged states with his wits.
It's questionable Dexter would even get to that point, because even if Mickey great detective skills are well known and famous- it still Mickey, Dexter take a bit to realize how skilled he really is. While I can see Mickey clocking Dexer as suspicious pretty early on as Mickey is shown to have a pretty good gut but still being extremely friendly towards him while collecting proof behind his back
Dexter can't even flee to get away, not only would Mickey go after him as he shown to do so even out of the city limits. He is good friends with Captain Doberman, a high ranking member of the army who also connections to the freaking secret service who in Mickeys universe have a spy network that works worldwide on missions
It's all fun and games discovering Horace and Clarabelle's relatives until I play the fun game of "How the f**k do I incorporate them into Interstellar Detectives (it's still being worked on, I've just been dealing with a full time job and depression) and my headcanon lore!?" 😭
Horace getting so many family members introduced puts a smile on my face and makes me cry because now it's turning into a game of HOW DO I INCORPORATE THEM INTO MY SCI-FI/FANTASY HEAVY HEADCANON LORE!? 😭
Curiazio currently doesn't have an English name since none of his comics have official English translations. But my extremely silly prediction is based on the names he has in other countries, it's most likely his English is going to be either Curtis or just Curt for short.
