I hate how instagram makes people feel like they have to be perfect or only post "Instagram worthy" photos. Our trip to the #instafamous #horeshoebend in Page, AZ was anything but perfect! Lol It was a crazy windy day but we went anyway. The hike to the lookout is maybe a mile and doable by all abled bodies and those in wheelchairs with people to help push them back to the parking lot. When we got to the lookout it was busy and we had to wait our turn to take photos, but the wind and the sand feels like being sand blasted. I couldn't take my hand off my hat for long and it did blow off once. I wanted to take cool photos with our Lego minifigs but the wind made that impossible and being miserable made for these very real, not instagram worthy photos. 🤣 But I'm all about being real. I'll never forget our visit, especially bc on our way back to the parking lot the wind blew Dragon's foot off the rock wall and he face planted the rocks and ended up with a bloody chin, knee and mouth. One of the sexiest things about my husband is what a great Dad he is. I think it’s fair to say most woman would say that’s a very appealing attribute in a man. I love that my husband enjoys taking our boys on special trips where he gets an opportunity spend quality time with them, getting to know them and teaching them life skills through fishing. But what my boys love most about these boys only trips, is their silly banter. It’s like a code phrase to say “that’s fishing talk boys, leave it for our next guys trip” with a wink and a smile. They all know the silly things they’re talking about, that bring back funny memories from their trip. Memories that keep them up late into the night giggling while they remanence about their fun trip with their Dad. That makes my heart smile. Every kid deserves a Dad like that. We didn’t all have great Dad’s that connected with us growing up, but what I’ve learned in my own experience is you can have that same silliness and banter with God. We may have been taught that our relationship with God needs to be formal and stuffy, but the reality is, God made you the way you are. He’s not surprised by your goofiness, or your smartalik personality. He knows your humor, he knows you love to be silly and dance and chuck it up. Trust me, you make Him smile. You’re not a surprise to God because He created you and made you unique and special and he loves you just the way you are. This recent “Guys Only” trip was in the #grandcanyon #horseshoebend #fishing #leesferry #leesferryanglers where they rented a fishing boat for the day and went around #horeshoebend It was so cool to have my husband turn on #FindFriends #App and me and our little ones could see their location while they were there.
