Hekarro raised an eyebrow, his lips twitching into an almost-smirk. With her clearer vision, it was easier to make out the details of his face now than yesterday. His strong jawline, sparkling eyes, and prominent cheekbones made her stomach somersault in a way she hated to admit. A fine layer of white and blue paint—or maybe something entirely else—patterned his face in sharp, angular designs. It wasn't just his face; the rest of him was covered too. There were dark black stains beneath the white and blue, scattered across his skin like a rigid mosaic—tattoos with symbols she didn't recognize. Victoria felt the doorframe behind her, pressed against her back, as she stepped away from him. Hekarro followed her, inch by inch, cornering her until there was no escape. Her heart beat frantically, and her breathing became shallow as the sunlight illuminated his piercing eyes. Oh, they're gorgeous The thought crossed her mind before she could process it, and warmth flooded her cheeks in embarrassment. Like honey
