life, is a lake.

and time is a river.

we flow out of one and into the other, flowing down the stream.

along the way our sharp edges become soft, and that is life.

we are grains of sand that eroded from mountains of a begone past.

we are pieces of something given form and etched by the river of time.

we start out rough and jagged, we become soft and smooth.

some of us don't, some of use break again or erode into nothing.

and yet that is still life, the more jagged we are the more valuable we will be.

but we erode, we soften.

because life is a lake, and time is a river.

and all grains of sand become round in time.

despite what we do to keep our sharp points, and rough bodies.

we soften, we become soft and round.

and eventually we settle into the sand bed, and we sleep.

we will erode, and time is a river.

but I am a river stone, sooth and soft.
