I think he'd be so surprised going to attack a human and then just... not being able to
I thought that this one turned out really fun!
I hope you like it :)
The day that Timber met them, it was cold. There was snow covering the ground, and wind was howling like a beast on the hunt.
He never liked it when it got too cold like this. It made him feel... Strange. Tired, sleepy, And just not all the way there.
Because of how hot he was, the snow melted around him, he couldn't even touch it if he wanted to!
He had been sleeping in his little area when suddenly he felt it. Their steps on the ground close to where he was. He lifts his head, looking around, frowning.
How did they get so close? He growls softly under his breath. A deep and rumbly sound.
Most likely the snows fault.
With that thought, he stood up and started to walk. Time to waste time and find the stupid human that was dumb enough to come into his forest while it was snowing this hard.
It didn't take him long to find them, the tracks they left lead him right to them... They were human, as expected, and their soul looked weak. They would die anyway, his way would be faster. Kinder...
He flexes his fingers, staring as they walked. Their skin, clothing, and hair were all covered by snow. They looked to be shaking. They looked... Pretty.
Something about them; but he couldn't place his finger on it, so he shakes his head to get his mind off it. Instead, he moved forward.
They turned their head hearing his footsteps, their eyes were wide, and he swipes his claws.
A quick and painless death. Blood staining the snow red...
But it didn't.
His hand stops moving the second he was about to hit them. His breath was coming out in harsh puffs, clouds of hot air hitting them but they were frozen.
He was too.
Damn it! What the hell? He needed to move. He could kill them, kill them easily! They were just a human. Humans hurt EVERYTHING so why did he stop?
He flexes his fingers again, his eye shine shooting around as he looked at them.
They slowly took a step back, holding their arms around themselves "I'm... Ah... H...Hello?" Their voice was full of fear. The fear annoyed him. He wasn't bad. He knew he wasn't he just... He was tired of being hurt.
Timber lets out a shaky breath, turning his head down. Why couldn't he do this? He should be able to hurt them but he can't.
Within the next few seconds the human backed up, and started to run away the best that they could. They would fall, lose their balance. Hard to run through such thick snow. He watched as they ran.
They would die out here.
Ugh...
He sighs at the thought and starts to follow them. The snow around him melted with each step, the water soaking into the ground. It was weird but, you know, maybe this would be good.
It took him a little while to find them again, not because he couldn't but more he was nervous about the idea of finding them.
What was this going to cause?
Finally, after a while, he found them fallen in the snow. It was piled around them...
When he touched them, they felt so cold but their skin so soft. It was... Nice.
He scoops them up in his big long arms, holding them against himself. They lent against him, his warmth most likely nice. Their eyes didn't open.
Good, for now, at least.
That was how he met them, and how they became part of his forest. After that day, he nursed them back to health, and they hold him about the soulmate thing when they woke up.
He made them a house to sleep and stay in, a place just for the two of them, and when their soul needs to leave, he'd be there, holding their hand.
