Wedding Tips - How to be a Gracious Host
1. Write Thank You notes. Write one for each present you receive; this includes small gifts, presents for engagement parties, bridal shower and bridal luncheons. A verbal thank you is not sufficient with a formal affair.
2. Give guests information. Information provided in a timely manner will make guests feel included and excited about your wedding festivities. This means sending save the date's six to seven months in advance, sending wedding invitation eight to ten weeks in advance and providing a website where guests can easily access times, locations and directions. If you don't have time to make your own website, make a Facebook page. Keep the Facebook page as updated as possible and interact with guests.
3. Greet each guest and offer a heartfelt "Thank You". Waiting for your guests to come greet you makes you look like an ungrateful bride. Some tips for greeting guests: eat hidden away during cocktail hour so you can circulate while guests are in the buffet line. An alternative option is after the meal has concluded make a full circle around the room ensuring each guest gets a moment with you.
